Lovely little studio with a view of the sea. Simple and compact. Had everything I needed for a few days. Peaceful, calming space.

Felixstowe has a really good promenade giving access from Langaurd Point to Old Felixstowe and beyond via a short beech walk to the Ferry Boat Inn. The prom also gives access to a good range of cafe, bar and eating establishments, the spa Pavilion being well worth a visit, the town itself is but a short walk from the pier and has a pleasant pedestrian only high street

Plenty of nice restaurants to choose from. High street has plenty of shops including quite a few independent shops. Plenty of things to do at the seafront where you can have a nice short or long stroll along the promenade

Although the weather was less than kind, my stay was pleasant and comfortable. The Great Orwell Hotel was the ideal venue for my need to be near the centre of town and close to the seafront for a bracing morning walk.

Felixstowe has something for everyone.
Felixstowe has something for everyone. There is a great mix of shops - chains and independents. The beaches are clean with decent facilities and amusements. The Dock end has the fort and museum with the excellent cafe. The amusement arcades are generally clean and varied with fast foods between. The pier has the obligatory slot machines with a cafe and food kiosks near the leisure centre. Old Felixstowe has quieter beaches and a large carpark. The ferry end is quieter but charming.
What we don't enjoy...the bumpy, bouncy roads and the ban on motorhomes in most of the car parks.
Nice thick toasting bread at breakfast, plus excellent cooked breakfast and lovely service.
We LOVE the fact that this beautiful, historic Felixstowe hotel hasn't been over modernised or tampered with. The style of it and retention of much of what looks like original layout, woodwork, staircase etc is absolutely great. PLEASE, please keep it's original and unique, historic charm into the future.
Very comfortable and excellent value for money. We will be staying again and again and recommending to friends and family.
After being in such a bad hotel which I left with 3 days left. I booked this lovely place it was cosy, and the bed was really comfy. The view was great, and Donna was very nice.I didn't realise the tv only had bbc, iplayer, and your own netflix. I kept searching, and Donna explained as I thought it had gone wrong, just me, though, lol
Returning Guest. I always stay at The Orwell Hotel when visiting Felixstowe. It is a proper hotel. There is a large car park, a level access and a lift to upper floors. Public rooms are accessible for wheel chair users and those with walking difficulties including the dining room and Bar.
Comfortable room, lovely lounge. There is a lift too so it is fine to be on the second floor.
Very good bar menu and the dinner in the dining room was delicious and excellent value.
We have stayed here before over several years and would recommend this hotel.
Great location close to boardwalk and high street. Not much parking for clients. Hotel staff were friendly and great, hotel probably needs an upgrade, looks like they have started doing some renovation. If you looking for value and great location this is it.
We really enjoyed our stay in this pleasantly presented flat close to the shops and beach. Felixstowe is a great little town, too.
Thanks very much to the owner for the thoughtful gift of bread, crisps and biccies on arrival.
The caravan was very comfortable with a well equipped kitchen, bathroom and balcony area, there was everything you could need.
There were games and dvds to use which were very welcome.
All info was clear and helpful.
Room 110 was warm and bed and bathroom clean, good parking, Dog friendly hotel, no issues and nice and quiet. Bar very nice and staff very friendly , very close to the beach too.
My room had excellent high ceilings, and the huge bathroom was modern Edwardian. The hotel has been completely updated but retains it's Victorian splendour. Well worth a visit.
Excellent and helpful staff. Room was a good size and the bed was comfortable. The property is however dated and didn't meet my expectation of a Best Western hotel.
Beautiful apartment with nice partial view of the ocean. Easy walkability in great area for walks along the beach and near a park. Perfect for children.
