The room, parking, food, friendlessness of staff and location were great. Also we travelled with dogs and they could have not been helpful enough. The parking is a £3 charge per night but at least you have space and safe parking.
Just outside of Penrith, the Brantwood Hotel is less than 3 miles from Ullswater. Just one mile from the junction 40 of M6 it offers en suite bedrooms and TVs.

Great place to visit with a good choice of eateries and pubs. The bookshop is amazing and is a lovely place to browse and have a coffee.
Good bus links with Penrith Station if you are using public transport. Fantastic walks from the doorstep, including the Eamont and Ullswater Ways.

Beautiful lake.
Beautiful lake. We enjoyed the boat trip from the pier which allowed us to have nice family walks in the gorgeous Lake District. We also appreciated the kids-friendly local pubs and good outdoor spaces.
Castles and the Hadrian wall are also nearby. We loved our bank holiday week end in Pooley Bridge.

Lovely walks in the surrounding area, especially by the lake. Well stocked bookshop with lovely adjoining coffee shop. We travelled there by car, but there seems to be a good bus service, especially to Penrith and also saw one service bus going to Windermere.

Very busy but beautiful spot.
Very busy but beautiful spot. The views along Ullswater if you walk towards Howtown are fabulous…….i
More charm and less commercial than Windermere.
Once the crowds disappear or before they arrive is great
Except the Sun Inn the pubs are really food places not bars……
The Manor was in a beautiful location and private off the road! It is literally a 2 minute drive or 15 minute walk from Pooley Bridge. Breakfast is very well prepared and presented in a themed queen ann style Breakfast room. Dogs are welcome and the owner Ailsa and her staff couldn't of done more for us. Will definitely be staying again in a hurry. Rooms are very well kept and clean and there is a kitchen that is free for guests to prepare there own meals and keep food fresh aswell as milk provided.
Amazing old school inn location where we spent some time while hiking Lake District - inn was full of tradition, very nice people that did everything to help us have a great time there and that was the most amazing part - whatever problem we had, they solved it with a smile. Food and restaurant were also great and it is just a great place that you can use for you travels or vacation.
Location was superb. Pooley Bridge has many amenities. Pier and Lake a short walk away. Cottage is well equipped. Bedrooms are a good size. Beds are VERY comfy. Large bathroom. Log burning fire was great addition. Lovely outside spaces. Quiet location. Parking for 2 cars (a real bonus given limited parking in village). Cosy feel to cottage
Fabulous breakfast good car park but busy at times. Make sure you book early to secure a preferred evening meal time; its popular for a reason. A range of Ales and decent menu. Large comfy bed and a nice bathroom with good shower and well equipped with various drinks, shortbread and fresh milk!
Cheerful place in a small town in the edge of the lake district. One gets the feel of being kind of in the North Woods.
Comfortable, friendly. Clean, Quiet, Easy checkin checkout, Nice dinner and included breakfast. Real small English pub atmosphere. Free safe parking. Easy to find.
Beautiful little cottage, perfect for a couple wanting a quiet retreat close to the amenties of Pooley Bridge with its pubs, cafes and shops. We loved the view from the breakfast table, lambs skipping in the field at the back of the cottage and we loved the small log burner.
Excellent breakfast, a large variety of cereal, fresh fruit and full cooked breakfast, excellent quality. Great location for a number of walks around the Pooley Bridge area and a number of great local public houses and cafes nearby. Central location in Pooley Bridge.
An ideal place to stay as a couple. Everything you need all in one place. The dogs were as welcome as we were. The log burner was a definite hit. The countryside and walks at the doorstep. With Pooley Bridge a few mins walk away. What more could we ask for ?
Amazing evening meal - we had the tasting menu. Comfortable and quiet room with nice toiletries, and polite and helpful staff. Free parking either adjacent to the hotel or nearby, and conveniently located in Pooley Bridge - a bit of an entrance to the Lakes
Great location in Pooley bridge. We received a friendly warm welcome from the staff. The room was very clean and comfortable. We ate supper in the restaurant, the steak and ale pie and fish pie were delicious as was breakfast the following morning.
Amazing location, cozy and comfy inside. Pooley Bridge is a short walk away (torch needed at night as no pavement to walk on and minimal road lighting). 1863 restaurant in Pooley Bridge is worth a visit.
Beautiful place with a great location. The staff were friendly and kind. We wish we would have arrived earlier in the day to enjoy more sights. Very dog friendly town.
