The property is perfectly located in a quiet area & a 2 minute walk from the beach. Breathtaking views from almost every window & from the perfectly manicured gardens. All rooms had a small kitchen area to allow you to bring some extras on your trip or to buy all those mouthwatering nibbles from the farm stalls in the area and enjoy it while you watch the evening set in from your private balcony. We had dinner the one evening at the restaurant and it was fantastic. The deep fried milk tart and honeycomb ice cream is a must for desert.

Beautiful hotel in an extremely beautiful part of the country. This deceivingly small hotel, which isn't that small one, you get up the steps from the main road is a hidden gem. The hotel manager Karen is a delight to deal with and converse with as are an array of staff, particularly Talin the chap who works the restaurant. Food is impeccable and can not be faulted, nor can its position within walking distance of everything.

The location was amazing and we were very fortunate with the weather.
ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS! The owners were very courtesy and welcoming. The food was terrific, and the location was so beautiful, especially the garden. We were upgraded to a larger room and could not have been happier! I would definitely return for a longer stay.

Driving through and parking in Portscatho can be difficult...
Driving through and parking in Portscatho can be difficult even off season. The streets are narrow and parking is very limited. There is a free carpark in Gerrans (10 min up hill). It is a very touristy town but still retains a lot of its old world charm. Lots of little, expensive shops, one pub, a few cafes and a convenience shop for necessities. The coast path runs right through Portscatho and there are some wonderful walks to be had. Also several beaches to be explored, usually at low tide only. Well worth a visit close by are St Mawes, Veryan, Melinsey Mill near Veryan, St Anthony Head and St Just in Roseland church, The Hut cafe is a short walk from Portscatho on the coast path.

Porthscatho is the very best of the quintessential English coast line. Naturally beautiful, clean beaches. Safe for children to play. Equally Good for paddle boarding or canoeing. Or just to chill and read a book.

I loved the location of Portscatho surrounded by the beach with beautiful picturesque walks along the beach with the quaint cottages with manicure gardens to admire as you walked by. I was lost for word at the stunning awesome beauty of the landscape where Portscatho sits and can only imagine wanting to live in one of those idealic cottages. Two words some up this magnificent place, incredible stunning.

Lovely traditional hotel with pretty gardens and nearby beach.
In a great location near to Portscatho, St Mawes and coastal footpath.
The room was spacious and comfortable, the kitchen area very useful.
The breakfast was excellent as was the evening meal we had there.
Staff were polite and accommodating.
Very pleased that the hotel has rooms that are not available to those with dogs !
I suffer from asthma so it was a key consideration for my wife and I.
Such an amazing location, so peaceful with a lovely view over Porthscatho from the Garden and Restaurant. The staff are amazing and a big thank you to Nigel who sorted out an early in room breakfast so we could get to our meeting. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating making our stay special. We have already booked to go back again.
The level of personal and attentive service was exemplary. I have worked in many 5 star hotels and stayed in countless more but rarely have we experienced such excellent and warm service!
The food was another example of the detail to attention and quality of produce used to prepare the dishes. Amazing all around.
Breakfast was good but would like to see Kippers on Menu. Location was good, size of room very good. Service was good attentive maybe a little too personal. The daily clean of room was very satisfactory and the Hotel itself was very nice.
Set away from it all, great comfortable hotel with costal location to die for. Beach below a combination of sand and rock pools but lots of steps down so wouldn’t work for wheels! Excellent food and nothing too much trouble. Great stay :-)
Beautiful location, lovely hotel and room. Staff were very attentive and helpful, even bringing cushions down to us when we were sitting outside in the gardens.
The beach is stunning. Stayed in a superior room with a view of the sea
The hotel is in a great location if you want a quiet stay with good sea views. It was also convenient for joining the South West Coast path.
The staff were generally good and create a relaxed (if sometimes slow) environment.
The hotel had a relaxed and cosy atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly and informative. Our room was spacious and very well equipped. The view from our small balcony was exceptional. The beds were super comfortable!
The location is absolutely perfect, amazing views, and the staff is generally very helpfull and welcoming. Breakfast was wonderfull and the hotel is beautifully placed for walks by the ocean, and sightseeing.
The location was sublime and the hotel immaculate and beautifully clean. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was exceptional. Plenty of parking and hotel ambience exceptional.
Stunning setting and grounds, wonderful, friendly staff and outstanding food. Probably the nicest hotel I’ve ever stayed in in the UK. The perfect place to unwind.
