The property is perfectly located in a quiet area & a 2 minute walk from the beach. Breathtaking views from almost every window & from the perfectly manicured gardens. All rooms had a small kitchen area to allow you to bring some extras on your trip or to buy all those mouthwatering nibbles from the farm stalls in the area and enjoy it while you watch the evening set in from your private balcony. We had dinner the one evening at the restaurant and it was fantastic. The deep fried milk tart and honeycomb ice cream is a must for desert.
Set in Mevagissey, near Little Polstreath Beach, Polkirt Beach and Polstreath Beach, The Wheel House has a bar. There is an in-house restaurant, plus free private parking and free WiFi are available.

The view was outstanding over the harbour. The room was clean, and the bathroom, although a little snug, was functional.

Ckean , comfortable , good food and good choice of beers . Very welcoming staff and really couldn't ask for more at the end of the long walk from Falmouth on the SWCP.

Fine for the walker, short or long- haul hiker, wild flower enthusiast and taking in dramatic coastal views. Boat hire might be possible as we saw families go out on both days of our stay but don't know from whom or cost. Fine for four legged companions as well on cliff top walks. However be prepared for a village with one other watering hole - The Ship Inn. Excellent pub grub at reasonable prices which we visited twice. The Lugger our hotel for two days needs to hike it's act. There are some very interesting places outside Portloe but need four wheels.

This is a delightful village by the coast.
This is a delightful village by the coast. It has a charming hotel, The Lugger, and an excellent old pub, The Ship Inn. Narrow roads wind down to the coast and it can be accessed via a local bus. There is a wonderful bus stop, with a covered seating area, on the hillside to the east of Portloe.
The nearest shop is in Veryan and it appears to sell everything that one could want on holiday!

Lovely, cute, quiet fishing town away from the main tourist locations but close enough to get to them. Lovely walks on the south west coast path from the village. The Ship Inn pub is not the best but the Lugger hotel is incredible.

We loved the coastal walks at Portloe and enjoyed visiting Heligan, Eden Project and the Minack Theatre. We ate in the Coastal towns we were visiting each day. We found the roads narrow and had to be very careful when driving to our destinations.

Portloe is a wonderful historic fishing village.
Portloe is a wonderful historic fishing village. There are wonderful walks along the South West Costal path leading from each side of town. A bus to Truro or St Maws runs regularly, daily from opposite the church. The Ship Inn Hotel has excellent meals and very friendly atmosphere.

The room was excellent although a little small.
The room was excellent although a little small. The only evening meal we had was very average mainly due to the lamb shank which was pretty awful in that there was no real flavour and cooked unimaginatively. No crab available but breakfasts superb.
great cosy rooms and atmosphere with lovely coastal views and interiors.
great seafront restaurant and food
very good room amenities, toilette accessories and fresh fruit every day
Portloe is very lovely and gives access to many coastal walks in case you don’t want to use the car
The staff in this hotel are the most friendly and welcoming staff I have encountered for a very long time. We received the warmest welcome and it was clear that nothing was too much trouble for them. I would definitely recommend the hotel for a few relaxing days away.
The food was amazing.
Gareth and his staff are fabulous.
The location is perfect for quite and rest and exploring Cornwall.
The daily home made cookies.
The hotel view of the cove gives great opportunity to see outstanding sun rises and sun sets.
Dog friendly too.
Amazing location, literally overlooking the tiny harbour and slipway at Portloe. Fab open fire with a couple of comfy sofas to chill out on a winter's night plus the benefit of a smart tv. A well equipped kitchen was also much appreciated.
Great hotel to enjoy the coastal paths and seascape. The service at the hotel is outstanding and meals superb. We were there to relax and soak up the scenery. We loved sitting on the terrace and watching the port activity.
Amazing hotel, very well kept, all staff and guests so friendly and polite. We felt so relaxed on our stay there was no rush. The view from our room straight onto the sea was lovely. Can’t recommend enough.
Lovely view of quiet cove, great walks. Friendly staff, good facilities. As it was my birthday, a message was written on the plate at the end, nice touch. Plenty of free parking for hotel guests.
The Lugger Hotel was idyllic, stunning location with amazing views.
The staff were super friendly and welcoming, couldn’t do enough for us, very accommodating.
We shall definitely be returning.
Great location on Portloe harbour, a very small fishing harbour. Good food and great views from the outside terrace area. The coastal walks in either direction from the hotel are very scenic.
The hotel is located in an idyllic setting. The property is cosy, clean and welcoming with friendly and attentive staff. The food was of a high standard as well.
