Fabulous space that was cosy and very clean. The Host, Debbie, made sure we were comfortable and how to contact her if needed. Very friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Really liked the option of either collecting breakfast to take back to your room or dine in the room next to reception. Great location with access to local bus routes and village

Fabulous place, perfect location and Cameron makes a wonderful breakfast, thanks for a great mini break…we will be back
The area was very pretty and easy to get to. The views are stunning from the cliff tops. Our accommodation was in a great location, very quiet and peaceful. Very steep hill to the beach, not for the feint hearted. There is a Pay & Display carpark at the bottom, but it takes only cash, unless you download an app. There is a Co-op in the next village and a number of places to eat. Locals were very friendly and informative. The walk along the Cleveland Way was was easily accessible. Great for dog owners. Never managed to walk on the beach as when high tide it was difficult to clamber over the boulders at the entrance to it, it is possible but care needs to be taken. In April high tide was in the afternoon. Plenty of people did manage it but be aware that it is rocky and pebbly. Important to know the times of the tides.

Stayed 3 nights at Salt & Seaweed, a 3 bedroom cabin.
Stayed 3 nights at Salt & Seaweed, a 3 bedroom cabin. It was very secure due to it being in a gated complex. There were 3 areas to sit outside, so followed the sun! It was very peaceful and quiet. The cabin was spacious and had everything we needed. We ate at the Firs restaurant one evening, a short walk away. The food was excellent and well priced. We walked the coastal route to Staithes, a few challenging areas with steep steps, but my 75yr old parents survived it! I would recommend Salt & Seaweed.

Runswick is perfect if you want a beach holiday and a walking holiday as the Cleveland Way passes through it; one way to Staithes and the other way to Whitby. There are no shops but Hinderwell is very near and has the odd shop or Staithes is about 7 mins in the car and that has a Co-op on the outskirts as you approach it on the main road plus some niche shops in the actual town centre.

breakfast was brilliant, plenty of choices.
breakfast was brilliant, plenty of choices.
accessability needs working on, entrances and exit doorways didnt have enough turning room for mobility scooter. We had room 8 with a wetroom but it wasn't big enough. obscured windows and tatty curtains that i had to stand on the sofa to draw. all in all the room was just not big enough.
Located 10 mins walk from Runswick Beach which is stunning. The hotel was cosy, homely and very comfortable. Great shower, good mattress and pillows, Netflix in the room, water, teas coffees and hot chocolate and even little cakes. Couldn’t complain about anything. The breakfast was superb!! Bus stop nearby to take you into Whitby if you want to leave the car and there is a bar down the road from hotel for drinks. We didn’t eat at hotel restaurant so can’t comment.
The location of the lodge (far corner) was perfect, nice and quiet and not overlooked. The lodge itself was immaculate, beautiful decor and spotlessly clean. There was plenty of room for all 5 of us to sit inside, and outside there were two seating areas so we could move with the sun! A 20 minute drive into Whitby and Runswick bay was only a 5 minute walk away.
1930s heaven - lots of original features & really great shower. Loved the location so close to Runswick & bus into Staithes & Whitby. Lovely enclosed garden & patio so had a little place to sit out. Pet friendly. The beds very comfy. Well equipped kitchen & across the road from a pub. I would stay again if they drop the cleaning fees.
Lovely small hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. The room was cosy and clean, good size bathroom with a bathtub and window. Breakfast was superb. The location is excellent, upper village in Runswick Bay. The beach is few minutes walk, it is a steep slope, but this is unavoidable in Yorkshire.
Enviable position with lovely view and room was large but unappealingly dark and unwelcoming ! The staff on duty were pleasant and helpful and made an effort to respond to basic requests of what was expected to be provided in any hotel room ! however no hanging space at all not possible of course
Runswick Bay is delightful, with good walking right on the doorstep. The property is in a convenient location with easy access to the beach and to places to eat. Susan was a very good host & we very much enjoyed our stay, particularly as the weather was so good.
The room was spacious and with all the mod cons. The breakfast was amazing. There was nothing on the menu you couldn't have wished for. The staff was very friendly. The Firs now also has a restaurant with lovely seafood on the menu.
The location was fabulous, beautiful view over Runswick bay. Located on a very quiet country lane.
The house was superb, spacious, light and airy.
All rooms are en-suite.
Everything was of the highest standard.
Normanby Cottage is a little bijou gem ! Brilliantly located in an elevated location and close to the Royal Hotel, who would kindly bring pre-ordered meals up to the cottage.
Marvellous in every way !
breakfast was lovely. Staff where friendly. location of hotel is great. dog towels available and treats where a nice touch. tea and coffee was readily available which was nice.
it was lovely and clean and had everything you need in it. also dog friendly. lovely location at the top end of runswick bay. the park at the time was quite as well.
The location was great and the food and service from the Runswick Bay Hotel was wonderful!
The cottage was very clean, well decorated and had everything we needed!
Lovely lodge, had everything we needed. Very clean and comfortable. Good location with the runswick bay hotel within walking distance which served good food.
