Well located in the centre of Wallingford, excellent food in the twin restaurant across the road but not cheap.

Nice market town next to the river. Offers a full range of shops, cafes and restaurants. We ate in the Old Post Office which was nicely laid out and served a wide selection of dishes. There are also a range of independent shops and walks along the river.

Lovely little town.
Lovely little town. We came for the 1940s day out at the steam railway. People very friendly. Had lovely meal at The Old Post Office. Nice pubs. Impressive Agatha Christie monument. Would definitely recommend a visit. Note that Sundays a lot of the shops and restaurants are closed.

Fab location & Good shower but that’s it.
Fab location & Good shower but that’s it. Disorganised in-house, very young people on breakfast duty with no idea whether ordered food or not. Minimal facilities , small room & filthy throughout apart from breakfast & dining area. Nobody on reception on arrival or vacating hotel. Should be fabulous but lack of management was poor.

Learn about Matilda and Stephen's history and stay for half a day, meandering through the town, visiting Agatha Christy place.
The Old Post Office is a nice place for food and drinks.
And the remains of the castle good to walk around
This hotel is in an excellent location overlooking the River Thames. It is quiet and we had an excellent night's sleep. Our double-aspect room was well appointed with a very good bathroom and shower; the bed was very comfortable. We had a two-course meal in the restaurant and the quality of the food was very good. On-site parking is provided [don't pay at the meter when you arrive - give your number to reception]. The staff were pleasant and friendly.
We stayed in one of the alder lodges and I have to say it was brilliant, a good sized room and bathroom with a lovely little seating area outside. Was a short walk from the main hotel and restaurant but perfectly quiet opposite the golf course. We had breakfast included which was until 11! And it was lovely sat having a coffee and eating overlooking the golf course in the morning.
Position was good, and the hotel had several public areas where a group could sit. Our bedroom had a lovely view of the river. The dinner menu had vegetarian and gluten free options(although not at breakfast). When paying our drinks were removed from the bill to compensate us from lack of gluten free items for breakfast, which was nice.
The staff are wonderful and offered a very warm welcome as soon as I walked in the door. The room was great with a very comfortable bed. The shower was strong and hot. The dinner menu was limited, but the pizza was great. Breakfast was very good with great sausages. I would love to stay in the hotel again.
Immaculate room and bathroom.
Very nice hosts who provided plenty of information about Wallingford and things to do there.
Off-road private parking spot and breakfast were a bonus received with open arms. Great value for money.
The location is quite convenient and easy to get to.
This charming property is in a quiet and central location, perfect to enjoy Wallingford as well as to relax indoors. The flat is extremely spacious and offers every confort, including a very well equipped kitchen and a comfy bed. Five stars for cleanliness.
Fantastic hotel and amazing staff who made us both feel very welcome.
Faye went over and above, recommending and booking a table for us at a local restaurant where the food was incredible.
Will definitely be returning!!
Everyone at The George was friendly and helpful. Our room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the shampoo and bath gel smelled very nice. The hotel is walking distance from almost everything in Wallingford.
Very handy place to stay for the night when in Wallingford. Nice rooms, well furnished, good location. I arrived at 11PM and left at 8AM so didn't get to check out much apart from the room.
Very well situated in the centre of Wallingford. The room was small but comfortable and quiet (despite there being a music festival on that weekend). The host was helpful and informative.
very relaxed atmosphere- small menu - nice food - breakfast good - quiet location - not far from Wallingford- walkable — staff friendly and helpful - would definitely recommend !
