The town is small and quiet-ish. There are some nice hikes worth taking, especially at sunset. (check the Guard Tower Area and the )
Not sure if it's all year round, but in September many of the restaurants and terraces were closing at 18:00 local time.
You can take the long route north to get to Tihany, but the ferry is faster and not that expensive (in 2023 about 10 EUR for 1 car + 1 person).

It is a little town but you can entertain yourself for 2-3 days easily. Many restaurants with a great food offers. All is about lavender products: soaps, perfumes, beer, ice cream... Very interesting.
Kecskeköröm Csárda with live traditional music, Tihany Retro Pizzeria, Lavender Garden Tihany and Gulyás udvar Étterem are restaurants to recommend.
Kilometers of cycling trails. A bigger town, Balatonfured, just 5 kilometers away so if you need more fun go there.

Access to the village without a car is a little awkward although during 0900 to 1800 a motorised train with about six small carriages operates at about 20 minute intervals.
There are a number of souvenir type shops and lavender and lavendula is in abundance.

Beautiful old village, full of character, fantastic views.
Beautiful old village, full of character, fantastic views. Easy to cykle along the lake. The place is famous for lavender, one must try local food, e.g. lavender ice cream, goulash, local beer or wine. There is an old Abbey on the top of the hill, not so far local wineyards. Above all people are so friendly and relaxed.

Great place in Balaton if you want to stay in a quieter area, and then go out at night in Balatonfüred because it is pretty close. Also very beautiful, staying here definitely gives you a rich cultural experience.
Exceptional location: right in the middle of Tihany, near to everything
High quality interior design, modern, yet very homey, equipped with everything you might need
Great view from the windows: the Abbey of Tihany - reed roofs of the old village - the ancient caldera of Tihany - the Inner Lake of Tihany - grazing horses and a Hungarian grey cattle herd - Mount Badacsony - the bridge of Kőröshegy
Very quiet apartment: despite its central location there is no noise - very peaceful, ideal to relax
Vánkoska is a breath of fresh air in the heart of Tihany. The house and the rooms are beautiful, clean, spacious, modern and very comfortable. The location is perfect too, as everything is walking distance from the house. Olgi and Tibi are exceptional hosts, very welcoming, warm and kind people, we cannot wait to stay with them again! 100% recommend 😊❤
The owners are very welcoming and helpful and kind! It’s in a quiet neighborhood, beautiful view down to the lake. There are a couple restaurants in walking distance. If you don’t have a car, it’s about a 25min walk to the center of Tihany where you can find plenty of places to eat and a couple small stores to buy groceries.
The location of the apartment is really close to the historical centre of Tihany. The design of the suite is cosy and fresh. The small kitchenette is enough for making breakfast or a small dinner. The huge terrace has shading so it won't get too hot. The host were really helpful.
The owners were nice and friendly couple who helped us with every need we had. The garden around the house is simply beautiful and full of tasty little things. Tihany is great destination for everybody, but it can be pricy — not this one! Wanderful holiday for a great price.
The yacht club is on the shore of the lake. It's easy to get to a bathing spot. It has a large garden with grass and some places to play different games. It has parking space inside the courtyard, and the car is safe. The rooms are clean but weren't renovated in a while.
The hotel itself looks really nice, with great outdoor vibes.
The breakfast was great, with many varieties, fast service and delicious!
The room is big and looked really nice with old-style decor, you could feel the old vibes of the building the moment you enter.
We were on a 3 days trip to Tihany and stayed and Viktoria Inn and it was really nice. The host was really helpful with information. The facilities meet our expectations and the room was interesting and comfortable for a couple. I would recommend.
Everything was great.
Clean, comfortable, quiet, modern appliances and fixtures. Friendly but not overbearing cat in the garden.
Great location, nice view.
Owner courteous and helpful.
Easily nicest apartment we've stayed at in Hungary.
The rooms are big with a comfortable bed and nice interior. The breakfast is traditional hungarian cold cuts and bakery products with also option to try some hungarian desserts. Nice location, close to the bus stop to Tihany center.
The breakfast was excellent with more than we could eat. The Reception was exceptional, Edit is the most welcoming and helpful person we've met in Hungary. We would recommend this Apartment Hotel to everyone.
Super special place. Very authentic and unique. Very nice and helpful manager. It’s in the middle of the pittoresk (and hyper touristic) town of Tihany and you can walk to the beach in 10-15 minutes.
Everything was on point, but what really made my stay exceptional was the staff of the hotel, they are beyond nice and welcoming. I stronly recommend this hotel, you won't regret it, I promise!
Good location and private beach, good spa, very good and plentiful brakfast and dinner, professional behavior of staff, you can say that there is something for anyone in this hotel...
Awesome location, walking distance to Tihany center. Also good connection by car to various Balaton locations. Studio was spacious, clean and nicely decorated.
