Hotel is around the corner of a few supermarkets and a huge shopping mall. AC in the room works well and we had a nice view from our room on the 5th floor. Breakfast is nice, a combination between western items and local cuisine, it starts at 7am but takes about 7.20 to get all the items ready. There is fruit, toast and jam and chocolate sprinkles, eggs, rice, soup, noodles, chicken or fish.

So many things to do, visit the mountain areas, (Tomohon and Tondano), visit the beach (Bunaken) and snorkelling or even dive for the most beautiful experience. See the markets, watch the sunset, and eat alot of good food.

Try visiting the Tangkoko National Park if you're keen on endemic wildlife as you can see the black crested macaque, kuskus, tarsiers, cockatoos, and so many other wildlife in the park.
Tasikoki wildlife rescue center is also a great place to visit if you would like to know more about what has been happening to the wildlife who lost their habitats or are being hunted for animal trades.

Interesting, some beautiful scenery in the country, the city and markets are dirty and lots of rubbish in the streets ,would look a lot better on the waterfront if it was cleaned up ,maybe parks instead of dirty car parks and weeds.
Sadly we didn’t go out to the island for snorkeling, next time!

A city not yet developed for tourists and so you will see the real life of locals. Friendly people. Many churches. Nice beach at Litupang. There is much that can be developed for tourism. Good to have a local sim card and Grab app to move around the city.

The people of Manado are very friendly.
The people of Manado are very friendly. The whole city is very safe for tourists. In fact if there's a time that you left some valuable things inside malls, restaurants or in any public place you visited, you are assured that such will be returned back to you.
It’s a great location if you want to get away from Manado city. The hotel has airport transportation if you ask for it and really friendly staff.
My 3 day stay here was exactly what I needed after 2 days of air travel and needed some recovery time before my dive trip to Siladen island. . . I arrived on a Saturday and departed on a Tuesday. The weekend was busy with local Indonesian guests where as the weekdays was very quiet with a few western tourists. Also they have a great dive shop and instructors or guides.
pros: i like that they have vegan meal options at the restaurant, i'm vegan and it was hard to find vegan-friendly menu in manado, so this hotel felt like an oasis to me. room is spacious for two (we had the deluxe room) and it's quiet so we had a good sleep, location was strategic near the mall and several restaurants, ATMs, laundry, and minimart. WiFi was decent and bed was comfy. we returned for another night here on our last day in Manado
the beds at grand luley are amazing! had really deep and comfortable sleeps in my time here - even better than 4 points at Sheraton Manado which I moved to after my stay here. i also highly, highly recommend the massage - one of the best i've had and i've had many massages across Asia! it also offered many different diving and snorkeling options. good base if you want to explore the small islands around the area.
This place is truly awesome! Simone and her staff spoiled us completely.
The restaurant was exceptional, both in variety and quality of the meals!
We also had great dives at the beautiful Bunaken dive sites with the crew of the Thalassa Dive Center who made sure that our diving experience was great.
The bungalows at the new Thalassa resort are spacious, have great terraces and are a joy to stay in.
Close to a fairly quiet area near the sea with lots of restaurants (pork dishes, etc, and beer). Also close to the center.
Event though it is a big, impersonal hotel, at breakfast I managed to have a two-shot expresso made especially for me and they even came to offer me a second one! Thas was a first!
Room is big, perhaps the biggest room in any hotels in Manado. Breakfast was delicious and had so many things, national and international food. They even had a coffee machine where you could get cappuccino, latte etc - the best breakfast in Manado hotels. It's quiet and a good place to rest and relax.
The staff at Aston Manado are simply wonderful - friendly, professional and welcoming. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable. Great AC and plenty of hot water. A fundamentally great stay in Manado.
Breakfast was good, WiFi works; no alkohol policy (not even a beer at the hotel bar) also no smoking zone (which is OK but just should be written in hotel policies)
It was exactly what we needed. A cheap accommodation near the airport for an early flight. Hot water, satellite tv and it is location near the airport and shops.
The breakfast and the food in general is great, better than expected in a Ibis Hotel.
The staff is super friendly and helpful and the beds are very comfy
