Carrig island lodge is in a stunning location with a gorgeous view of the castle, the house was absolutely immaculate and was fully equipped with anything you could of thought of like towels, shampoo etc.. as a family of 10 we all had loads of space in bedrooms and beds were so comfortable. The location was right in the center of town with easy on street parking right out front of the entrance door, especially on Sunday when one would not have to feed the meter, as was necessary other days. The person working at the establishment helped me up the two flights of stairs with the luggage but I found I had to go it alone upon exiting, which was a bit of a struggle. I did not want to walk down and up two flights just to see if someone could help in case I did not find anyone. I found my room facing the back very quiet from street noise, but had some pipe dripping noise to contend with.

Mary is an excellent host. The selection of food at breakfast was excellent. Would definitely stay again.
Room was not clean, nearly unhygienic. The kettle in the room was filthy. Don't not Book here. There was some other person clothes in wardrobe. Paint on walls was dirty and had dead flies mushed into it. There was black mold around the bathroom. Don not book this place. Do not stay here.
