As they say in french, this hotel is our 'coup de cœur', it has amazing views from the restaurant, 15min drive from Vik and 10min drive from Dyrholaey Promontory.
The room was cosy, design, very clean, well decorated and had a lovely big shower.
The breakfast is included in the price and it serves hot and cold, very generous and a good choice of everything (especially lots of fruit!).
The receptionist gave us very good restaurant tips for the evening although we could also eat at the restaurant but chose to visit Vik instead.

Must try black crust pizza.
Must try black crust pizza. The lookout point at Dyrhólaey panoramic views, don't miss it and of course the Black Sand beach. To visit the crashed US plane, either we can walk for 3 hours (both ways) or take shuttle which will cost ISK3000 per person.

Vik is a picturesque gem tucked along the country's stunning south coast! Reynisfjara Beach is easily accessible, where black sand meets crashing waves with towering basalt columns as the backdrop. The wind can get too strong which makes a part of the beach dangerous (sneaker waves warning), but it is still well worth visiting. The town is charming with cozy cafes (try the black crust pizza!), the locals are warm and welcoming. This town is the perfect location to embrace the opportunity to disconnect and immerse yourself in Iceland's raw beauty.

We stayed in Vik for 3 days. Totally loved it.
We stayed in Vik for 3 days. Totally loved it. It is quite a small town, but has a big supermarket (kronan), a really great quality hiking clothes/supplies store, plus a number of cafes and places to eat. We recommend Sudur Vik Restaurant especially.
We did the Katla Track ice cave tour which was amazing and left from Vik!! Also recommend Icelandic Mountain Guides Snowmobile tour - meeting point 25 mins drive from Vik. Black Sand beach is great, as is local open air pool.
We stayed in the Vik hotel which is fabulous, but as we were there for three days, I would have preferred an apartment. The hotel also operates the Vik Apartments (which I hadn't realised before I booked) - they look really good.

We based our family of 5 in Vik to explore the southern coast over 3 nights with our rental car. We found it easier to have one base rather than a different hotel each night.
We visited the Skogafoss Waterfall, Black Sand Beach, YODA caves, gorge hike, Glacier walk at Skaftafell and then onto the Glacier lagoon and Diamond Beach.
We didn’t eat out as it was expensive for what appeared average food so we went to the local supermarket and cooked back at our self catered apartment.
Vik offers lots of adventure based companies who organise tour and expeditions.
This is the one hostel that I stayed in during my Iceland stay and I was impressed. Excellent value for money and lively vibe. We shared a private room with a shared bathroom down the hallway. Bed was very comfortable. Shower and bathroom were clean and I did not have to wait. Lovely view from the room. There is a bar open till very late and kitchen available to cook. Lots of people chatting and cooking from all corners of the world. Close to the town of Vik with black sand beaches.
Super nice hotel close enough to Vik to get to the village in less than 10 min by car, but not too close, so it was really dark at night and perfect for looking for auroras. Nice and clean, perfect room for a couple of days stay.
We could hear the people from the rooms next to us when they were on the hallway but not inside the room, so it was quiet during night.
We are going to stay again for sure when coming back to Iceland!
This was an extraordinary stylish and beautiful hostel. My daughter and I stayed in a room with 6 bunkbeds. The showers and bathrooms were spotless. There was a small bar and you could purchase coffee and baked goods for breakfast. We didn't cook but they had a great kitchen for those who prefer to carry and make their own meals. The location was excellent on the same road as one of the most famous black sand beaches in Iceland.
Of all the hotels we stayed in Iceland the breakfast served here was the best, in terms of variety and quality. My wife doesn't usually eat bacon but she just couldn't help herself gouging on those thin and crunchy and perfectly cooked pieces of bacon!
We stayed for 2 nights at this hotel and our room was big, bed firm and comfortable just as we like it.
Waking up every morning at Hvammbol and seeing that view every day was amazing. It was a great location - only 10 min drive to Vik and central location to many of the waterfalls, hikes, glaciers along the south side. The kitchen had every thing needed to cook and prepare meals. I will definitely stay here the next time I'm in Iceland!
The facility of the Guesthouse is excellent. We were so lucky to get a "very very budget price" to rent this excellent guesthouse at Vik.
The lady owner is very nice. She prepared waffle batter for us for the morning breakfast. She also provided homemade jam for us.
This is the best Guesthouse during our stay at Iceland.
One of the cutest places we have ever stayed. The host treated us like family members. The house itself is located near the most famous beach of the Iceland, you can get there by foot. And after driving 2 hours around the Vik to see the Northern lights,we saw them in front of the house, when we came back.
My dad and I stayed at Puffin Hostel Vík for one night on our two-week trip to Iceland. The room and communal areas (shared kitchen and bathroom) were very clean and tidy. The location was very convenient - it is about a 10-minute walk to the black sand beach in Vík where you can see nesting puffins. :)
The hotel is well located between Reykjavík and Jokusarlon glacier lagoon and few minutes to Reynisfjara beach and Dyrholaey beach where we were able to watch puffins. The rooms have a beautiful view (glacier or beaches). Big room. Good breakfast. Inclusive Iceland’s bread. No fees for parking.
The hotel is the biggest one we stayed during our 10 days trip in Iceland, we stayed two nights there with two rooms next to each other as requested. Room and bathroom are in good size and clean. The restaurant is big with a beautiful view, breakfast is excellent. We are happy with our stay.
The property is very modern and clean. It was the nicest place we stayed while in Iceland. Veronica and the gal who's from Greece (I apologize for forgetting her name) were very friendly and conversational. In fact, they were the friendliest young people with whom we spoke all week.
The accommodation is a "house" as the owner called it, and our room had a private bathroom. It is very nicely located in VIk, especially when you are travelling around Iceland, like we did. It has a free parking outside the building and the room we stayed was quite spacious.
Contemporary hotel with excellent facilities and a nice vibe, right in the heart of the south Iceland ring road. Upscale restaurant onsite or eateries a stones throw away! I recommend walking up to the church above the hotel for a grand view of the coast and sea stacks.
Vik is obviously a small town, but this was located near the little church and across the street from a supermarket and gas station. It was convenient, the hotel staff were super friendly and the food was delicious. It was pricey, but everything in Iceland seems to be.
Clean and comfortable. Handmade wool sweaters the cheapest we found in Iceland and the workmanship was superb. We didn't realize what a great deal it was at the time. If you're in the market for sweaters, call them! We will go there next visit to buy one there.
Location is perfect: quiet but also very close to Vik and Black Beach. Room is spacious and has a lot of storage space for the luggage. The parking is just at the door of your room which is perfect in rainy weather (that is very often in Iceland).
Very nice comfortable rooms. beautiful views and location. Vik is a great town to visit in Iceland and this hotel is a perfect location near town but you are definitely in the wild landscape of Iceland. Highly recommend this hotel.
Everything, very comfortable modern hotel, fantastic breakfast with lots of options, accommodated request for extra pillows, beautiful view. Restaurant for dinner was one of our best meals in Iceland. Quick, easy check in.
Ideally located hotel in Vik as a stop over so that one can visit beautiful south of Iceland. Clean room and helpful staff. Recommended. Good breakfast. One of the black sand beaches is within walking distance.
