Avola is a nice town near the sea: famous for its almonds, honey and wine, it has some baroque feeling to it, though not as much as Scicli for instance. It is a near-perfect base to visit Syracusae, the beaches of Noto or the town of Modica: all within reach from 20 minutes to 1 hour, but it can also be a relaxing place in itself. A recommendation would be to visit "Bar Pasticceria Mangiafico" in town, that since 1972 delivers quality in pastries and sicilian street food!
On the side of warnings, it needs to be said that the old town has very narrow roads, and getting around by car requires some driving skills.

Avola seems like a ghost town in peak summer times
No good restaurants, no bars and nothing seems to be happening.
All the shops seemed closed once you got off the beach. Luckily I had a car so I could drive to neighbouring cities

Difficult with a car. Narrow matrix of streets. Needs Google maps and a navigator even to get to Centro storico. Easier on seafront. More space , more facilities. Seawater beautifully clean, beaches safe.

Avola isn't the prettiest town, though it does have its nice parts, but it is the perfect base to explore south east Sicily. The beaches are decent, there are plenty of nice places to eat and the access is good.
The hospitality was top notch - the hosts were so kind and accommodating. They went above and beyond - even greeting us with delicious pastries and espresso when we arrived. The room was huge and extremely clean. They served a lovely breakfast including eggs at my request. The town of Avola is wonderful with a beautiful beach and nice restaurants and bars. The location of the B and B is very central and convenient to everything, including an Aldi to buy groceries and snacks. I highly recommend this B and B and hope to come back someday!!!
Everything was beyond fantastic. The host was extremely kind. Extremely well equipped apartment, everything is new and comfortable. It is easy to park in front of the apartment, free of charge. The location is great for traveling around Avola, to Noto, Modica and Ragusa. Avola is an extremely charming town, with a typical Sicilian atmosphere. Around the apartment there are small shops and butchers where you can shop. The place allows full immersion in the atmosphere of Sicily.
The hosts were very welcoming. They left us a great welcome pack. There was a small language barrier but we all got by. The facilities were great and no parking problems as we parked inside the gated property. The location was great. Just off the main road to Syracuse and not to far from the hospital and shops in Avola but far enough from the road to live in tranquillity.
We had a very good time and we were happy to have chosen this B&B. Located in a district not far from the sea and the city center, all very comfortable even without a car. Avola is a beautiful seaside town where you can spend your holidays in peace.
Valerio is the owner and he was really helpful and he suggest to us a great restaurant where to have a nice dinner.
Valentina was a wonderful host! Great communication and amazing care of her guests, providing an extremely rich breakfast, also including fresh croissants of choice from local bakery, and suggestions about attractions to visit around Avola. The room was clean and comfortable, parking was easy on the street. It was a really pleasant stay. Strongly recommended!
We travelled in May for wedding celebrations which were great but it was too early in the year. Avola starts in June!
The premises were very quiet as often we were the only people in the apartment block!
The host was not on site most of the time, but he was generous in bringing us a bag of home grown Sicilian lemons and oranges - delicious.
everything, the accommodation was scenic set into the side of mountains and was a perfect getaway for relaxing and been left alone. The staff despite the language barrier were always on hand to help, they were so friendly and patient and the food was a true vision of Sicily. We were welcomed instantly and the pool was a perfect suntrap.
We had an amazing stay and the owners were very friendly, helpful and thoughtful. They made sure we had everything at our disposal. The house was new, clean and designed very well (beautiful and very functional). If me and my wife ever visit Sicily we will for sure book this accommodation again.
We really enjoyed our stay in Pantanello Rooms Avola, the room was spacious and well equipped. The sea view from our balcony and the breakfast room was so nice. The breakfast buffet was plenty and delicous and the staff was so helpful. Can highly recommend this place!
The best location in Sicily. The villa is amazing ( I have fallen in love with it ), at 3 steps to the beach ( with sand ), very, very close to many restaurants. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. I will definitely come back to stay more days than I stayed now.
Nice place, beautiful nature, fantastic sea, very authentic little hotel in the middle of an old but live farm with olive gardens.
Helpful and attentive staff. Nice clean rooms in a vintage farmhouse.
We've got what we expected: peaceful week in a kind of heaven.
Very nice and very clean family apartment with little private garden. Nice host, who lives just next door. 20 min walk to the nice sandy beach. 30-40 min walk to Avola city center and stores. Ideal for families. Host green attitude, garbage sorting. Fast internet.
The concept and location of the hotel. It is a small, approximately 20 rooms, and looked like a family run business. Everyone was very welcoming. Breakfast and leisure areas (swimming pool) were not crowded which allowed our break to be very relaxed.
Very nice apartment with 2 terraces. Perfect location if you want to enjoy the south east of Sicily.
The apartment is equipped with everything one needs to cook at home.
The guest is very friendly and provides you with all the information you need.
Such a nice family host who will help you regarding everything Avola related. For non-Italian tourists as us this was a great place in Sicily to spend the vacation. Many thanks to Martin and his wife. Very good breakfast with many sweets.
Absolutely everything was great and worked perfectly. Beautifully renovated apartment in the middle of the city of Avola in an old building. We had all we needed and the owner was lovely and helpful. We enjoyed the roof terrace as well.
Very nice location in walking distance to the best beaches of Avola. Many beautiful places in the southeast of Sicily can be perfectly reached from here. Calm area. Nice garden. Well equipped. Very comfortable.
Very nice and helpful host, very clean rooms, delicious pastries for breakfast. Avola is an excellent starting point for exploring the south-eastern part of Sicily.
