Wednesdays in April are not good when wanting a decent evening meal, very little choice but Friday night much better as everyone was open. Merizzi by the station on the corner of the main road does fantastic good.

We enjoyed wandering around the older parts of town.
We enjoyed wandering around the older parts of town. The cathedral was beautiful and open to view inside. The entire town is walkable, no need to hire a car. There was a variety of places to eat and drink. The location of the train station made it easy to come and go.

Tirano is a very nice town.
Tirano is a very nice town. It is very well connected with other parts of Italy by train. Also, the main attraction is the Bernina Express, which departs hourly from the Swiss Train Station, which is opposite the TrenItalia train station. What a gorgeous little town right by the rushing river.
What a gorgeous little town right by the rushing river. Fascinating buildings and great food ( had a great pizza at LETI DI PILONI AXEL by the station. Only stayed overnight after coming from Chur on the Bernina line then on to Rome but could easily have spent a week here. Everything walkable.

Lovely town in the valley, surrounded by beautiful wooded mountains. The old town is great and the connection to the Rhaetian Railway and the beautiful Bernina line are not to be missed! Great location close to the train station and a reasonable walk to the old town and also to the Santuario della Madonna di Tirano which is worth a visit. Check in for the hotel was at the Merrizi restaurant, which is also where the limited, but good quality breakfast was served. If going to the Bernina bus to Lugano, it's a short walk through the underpass to the other side of the main train station.KathrynUnited Kingdom

Allesandro waited for us on the station, showed us everything, gave a lot of very useful tips, very good comunication and contact via phone. Bernina Express train station is just next to the main train station. Room & beds at hotel are comfortable. Breakfast was excellent & had lots of varieties. Staff were very polite, friendly & helpful. Lots cafes & restaurants outside hotel. 15 minute walk to Sanctuary of Madonna church & Tirano town. Pretty little town.

We cocked up leaving Tirano train station and had a long walk round to get to Alessia's house. Don't do this, communicate with Alessia and find the underpass. The B&B is then on the left.
