There was a cyclone, Belal, during my stay. The responsible for the space delivered food and a candle for the day where the storm would be stronger.

Overall a good hotel but there are some key features they need to improve on.
1, The price on some items are way out there like their taxi booking, booking.com offer 25 euro and from them its 60 euro. we can understand maybe 20-30% topup but not 120%. its not about the amount but as matter of principal. also their private fishing tour cost 28000 their own money which around 2200 dirham or 600 dollars. the reason as per them is the fuel cost and i we understand the fuel cost is a bit high but it felt a bit to high for some hours of fishing. on the other hand they did have a 30min free shallow fishing for small fishes.
2, The Beds and sheets where an absolute disaster, for a hotel on this caliber we could not understand how they have not managed to buy some proper bed mattress and sheets, it was almost impossible to sleep, the bed mattress had totally lost its shape and were bend in the middle so we woke up multiple tiles during night and the sheets were of the cheapest quality and where making sound when we moved around.
3, the Pool was one of the best pools i have seen in any hotel, seating around the pool with bed in the water.
4, the personal were really nice and polite.
5, the hotel location is good and relaxing
6, they had some free water actives like snorkeling, shallow fishing, kayaking, etc
Overall a good hotel but have space to improve.

Grand Baie is a fabulous area of Mauritius on the North coast of the island. Beach is beautiful, lots of street food, bars, restaurants to choose from.
Supermarkets, shops and malls all a short walking distance.
Plenty of day trips such as catamaran trips, glass bottom boats that leave from Grand Baie and if you fancy a little bit of extreme adventure then 20 mins away you can go sky diving and experience something out of this world with beautiful views of the island

Grand Baie is beautiful, so easy to get to shops, restuarants and beaches. Very busy though, and drivers tend to speed on the roads, and there is almost no pavement for walking in many places so please be carefil when walking along the road. Beaches are truly beautiful. We were able to easily get to restaurants and the food was really great -Toparadis served great food and we got our food very quickly, the cocktails here were very good; the most amazing food was at Ocean V, Rooftop restaurant, the staff were amazing, friendly and so welcoming and the view was unlike any other I had seen in Mauritius. You can also try the street food, it really is so safe and good. We took a boat cruise from Grand Baie to Gabrielle island and it was amazing, though not for the sensitive, as boat tends to rock quite a bit when the wind picks up- saw lots of flying fish and dolphins! Overall we had an amazing boat cruise on the Coral Princess with superb hosts, Kevin, Pascal, Carelle etc. Lunch was served on the boat when we got back. Lots of taxis and buses, though not so much on weekday nights, and lots during Thursday to Sunday day and nights.
I suggest using cash at the little stores if possible as there seemed to be a connectivity problem at at least 2 stores where I was charged for the purchase but they said the txn did not go through, and at one shop the lady was quite rude -keep your purchase slips as proof, or take a pic of the "card not supported message". Be prepared for the price of items to be increased the moment you speak another language (other than creole). Always negotiate at the markets!

Beautiful area with a lot to do.
Beautiful area with a lot to do. Many local shops around, with the Super U Mall within walking distance.
The roads are very narrow with hardly any space for pedestrians to walk. Renting of cars is impossible if planning a spontaneous trip, but there are local shops renting out bicycles and scooters.
The manager of the accommodation, Jabir, was super welcoming and helpful. Even before we left to Mauritius, we could always rely on him to answer any of our queries. You could also book activities through them and they recommended an awesome shuttle to take us around as well. Overall, this was a really great place at a great location, walking distance from shops and other amenities. Great view of the beach right outside our doorstep, not one of the public beaches (more a fishing boat area), but still breathtaking. Would definitely visit again!
As I’d stay at Veranda Hotel GB and enjoyed previous visits apres Covid20 taking consideration these factors and knowing that the Veranda had undergone renovations I was disappointed, the welcome warm but little else to recommend about my Christmas stay could see slight improvement in catering standards and the breakfast was pleasant when I was showed to room my heart sank not the size or quantity I was expecting taking into consideration the cost of a three night stay. Seemed to get the only room left very disappointing. Tom
Instead of being a three star, this villa ought to be a five star. I've been in a lot of villas in Mauritius, but by far the finest is Sunny Side Up. We have young children, therefore we are picky about accommodations. Our hopes were surpassed by Sunny Side Up, which is exactly what you can see in the pictures. The ideal location. Clean. Lovely host. Excellent communication...The supermarket, which has a wide range of food, is about five minutes away. Most of all we felt safe..... I would highly recommend sunny side up.
There are so many things to like. The size of the apartments. The cleanliness. The convenience to 2 malls and hospital next door and grand baie town not too far away. The activities that take place everyday at the hotel. The staff the amazing staff from the waiters, reception , all the Barmen A’s , the A team, Ryan, Bhavesh, JP hosted amazing segha dancing. Arelii and the amazing painting classes. There was so many little extras that are offered that are not advertised cocktails with free snacks. Happy hours. Etc.
Both the owner and the staff were friendly, informative, and welcoming. The location is a quick 2 minute walk to a bus route, and therefore accessible to Grand Baie, Peyrebere, Moint Choisy and the rest of the North. They helped arrange tours and transportation as needed. The room was super clean and had the best shower during my entire stay in Mauritius. The amenities and set up in the room were very thoughtful for comfort and a multi-day stay. The breakfast was appreciated. And, the cat is lovely too!
The staff is amazing and makes you feel like at home. They are very helpful and go above and beyond of what is expected. We got an upgrade to the suite that was an amazing surprise to us especially that we stayed there for 10 nights.
Breakfasts were super tasty and the choice was always there (great omlettes and pancakes).
The travel agency next to the hotel is great and offers fair prices. We booked some boat trips there during our stay. The beach right next to the hotel is perfect for swimming.
I liked very much the individual houses in the colonial style: the main reason I selected this hotel, the welcoming drink after such a long trip, the garden which was taken care of daily, the decoration of our room, the various activities they had each evening, the boutique shop, the excellent massage that I enjoyed in the spa, that they gave me a room at the back and it was quite as I requested. It was so nice to lie in the evening in the chairs and listen to the sea!
I can only say WOW! we had a amazing vacation at LUX*. By far the best hotel / resort experience me and my wife ever had.
Great facilities with amazing restaurants, SPA, Gym, pools, beach etc, and great spacious suites watching the lagoon.
But beyond that, the staff and service was amazing! So friendly and always there making you feel taken care off. Including our taxi driver Sanawas Oozeerkhan that showed us all the great places Mauritius have to offer.
We loved the location, it was so easy to enjoy a half an hour walk right into the center of town OR hop right on the bus. It was so convenient to have the bus stop right outside the villas. We also enjoyed having a market/store right outside as well, it was so easy to walk over and grab water bottles or snacks. We also loved the view of the ocean/beach/palm trees and it was the best view to wake up too. The wifi was also fantastic! Worked very fast.
Very friendly staff and lots of activities to do there. The beautiful sandy beach is awesome and the food was very good.
We also had a great time at the SPA, we had a very relaxing couple's massage which we really enjoyed.
We want to thank the hotel for the honeymoon gifts, it was a very pleasant surprise, and the entire stay there was excellent and memorable!
Nothing nothing nothing... it was pathetic unhygienic.... worth only 1000 rupees per day.. they charged 90000 and facilities were pooooooooooorrrrr.... worst villa I have visited in mauritius... don't go there ever.. if u want to wake ur money ur most welcome... staff was very very very very rude.. just don't go...
Had a wonderful stay here with family. We were pleasantly surprised when we received a warm welcome from Cindy. The villa is in real life so much more beautiful and spacious than the pictures make it seem. Highly recommend to stay here while enjoying the beautiful north of Mauritius
It a very peaceful resident especially couples Coz it's very Cold 😄 workers are very helpful, they have excellent value for money and less to talk about the wonderful food it's a place worth to give a try especially being a first timer in Mauritius island 😍
The food is excellent, a very relaxed atmosphere in the hotel. Employees are extremely friendly. We loved the shower. Overal the complex is maintained very well.
Had a newly renovated Appartement at the groundfloor. Just a few steps to the beach of Grand baie Restaurants Shops etc.. No more value for Money achievable..
