Very nice town, it has interesting museums and picturesque streets. Prices are low and quality of restaurants - high, it's worth trying local food. Every weekend vendors of artisan sell their unique products around the main square.

I visited Tlaxcala not as a tourist but with an eye to living there. Still, it has an amazing history and lovely historical buildings dating to the 1500's; it feels safe and small-town overall (although it is a sizeable city); local people were really nice; prices at restaurants and markets were reasonable and there is a lovely botanical garden on the river that runs through the town.
My visit was overshadowed by the dismal Booking.com apartment that I was rented. It was dirty, cold and ultimately dangerous because of a gas leak. My photos here are of its kitchen sink, the cooking 'stove' and one of the many dirty surfaces. I am doing this because it may be the only way I can get attention from the Booking.com administrators. After some initial contact with Booking and the property owner I finally made a formal complaint. While I was refunded the two nights that I couldn't stay because of the gas leak, I never heard back on a general or partial refund for misrepresentation of the property and its shabby condition.

A very pleasant colonial-style town with one of the oldest bullrings in Mexico, adjacent to which the Casa Taurina is a large and very pleasant bar and restaurant. It's worth climbing up the steps to see the wooden mudejar ceiling of the Catedral de Nuestra Senora dela Asuncion.

This is a lovely property, in a great location.
Our king bed room was really nice and had a very comfortable bed and lots of hot water for a shower. However, this main floor room was very cold, it didn't get enough sunlight to warm up during the day. A heater would have been helpful. We had lots of blankets, though. I think other rooms would not be so chilly as this one was.
I would recommend this hotel for anyone.
Clean hotel located very close to the city centre of Tlaxcala. There's a nice bar on the roof but it's not noisy - the music is turned off around 9 p.m. Hotel offers water, coffee, tea and laundry service. TV has the access to streaming services, the internet works smoothly. Beds are comfortable and there were extra blankets available. Rooms are cleaned regularly, bathroom is ok.
This is a very clean, comfortable, safe and affordable hotel. I returned after spending several days away as it is so reliable and welcoming. My second stay was just as comfortable as the first. Everything one needs for a good night’s rest. They make a great cappuccino in the morning, and there is an excellent restaurant just across the street.
Awesome colonial-style hotel next to the main plaza of this nice little town. The breakfast was simply extraordinary with all local dishes included. Service and staff was super-friendly (except for one rather grumpy employee at reception) and tried to make the stay as pleasant as possible. Rooms are modern and very clean.
The hotel is really a lot more than I expected. A very nice colonial location -in the middle of nowhere but I knew that- the service was exceptional, the food was very good, some interesting unexpected twists on traditional dishes. I'd really go there any weekend just to have some rest and breath some fresh air.
The hotel and room decoration are wonderful as well as the garden. The room was confortable and clean, and the staff was very nice. They offer continental breakfast but gave us tamales as an extra courtesy.
The hotel is close enough to the city's downtown and very close to the Ocotlán's church.
Great hotel. Daily room cleaning. 7 min walk to Zocolo, cafes and some museums. Very nice en-suite room with bathroom. Gorgeous gardens. All at a v reasonable rate. If this hotel is available, grab it!!!
Hotel Tlaxcala is very centrally located in Tlaxcala. Nevertheless my room was rather quiet.
The breakfast is buffet style. The owner made very fine prints of my ESTA (American visa).
The person and the people were very friendly and helpful., They explain very good the attractions of the city , and the amenities of the Hotel and provide many health hints
Breakfast is really good (buffet). location is exceptional, hotel was recently renewed, still missing spa & other facilities. So far, quite a good experience.
