Lovely modern clean unit with good supplies and lots of room. We had a nice lookout and were walking distance to the New World which was next door. Also provided parking which was essential as we had classic cars.
Noah's Ark Backpackers is a historical ex-monastery, centrally located and boasting panoramic city, sea and sunset views.

Global Village Travelers hostel was the most attractive of the six I stayed in during my visit to the West Coast. It was clean, well decorated, and welcoming. Each bed of my female only dorm room had its own electrical outlet and light. The kitchen was clean and well stocked with cookware. Lots of books and pamphlets in the common rooms about the surrounding area. I recommend it highly for solo female travelers!

Very good stopping pony to visit pancake rocks and the blow holes. We walked to the coal creek falls which was lovely. We drove to Franz Josef, Fox Glacier and Hokitika. Greymouth was okay but there is absolutely nothing to do when it’s raining. Its only a small town.. the big pils is it has no traffic lights!

We enjoyed eating at the Speights Ale House and having coffee at the Robert Harris Coffee lounge. Our stay at the Sundowner Motel was clean and spacious. Our hosts were helpful and this made our stay enjoyable. The information boards around the town were interesting to read as we walked around but once we had accomplished this there was not a lot else to do. We would have liked to hire a car and explore further a field but no one would allow us to hire a car for a day.

Greymouth itself is not very attractive but the coastal drive north to Punakaiki offers fantastic scenery, and Hokitika Gorge to the south will not disappoint. There’s a small restaurant in Greymouth called Sevenpenny which was very good, far better than the overpriced restaurant in our hotel.

The proprietor's wife is now withholding the pair of jeans I had accidentally left behind.
Having phoned the motel, the proprietor's wife advised me to send a self-addressed and stamped envelope to the motel for them to forward my black jeans to my next accommodation in NZ. When she realised I was the guest who had requested a replacement for a broken toaster and scratched frying pan during our stay (the husband had kindly replaced both items within 40 minutes), she sent the following message to my phone:"LOL after how much we went out of our way for you and yet you thought things were disgusting here! Good luck with the return of your jeans." End of quote. Needless to say we are dismayed that a proprietor would threaten to withhold a paying customer's property and have subsequently contacted booking.com and gave filed a complaint. We are awaiting their response.
This is an excellent option at a very affordable rate. It’s one of the more affordable options in Greymouth and the rooms, though not having their own ensuites, are perfectly comfortable nonetheless, plus the normal West Coast charm of everyone I met there is truly refreshing. It’s a great hotel in a great little town which crams all you need into one main sopping area.
Ideal location for Tranzsalpine train and car hire. Only few minutes from hotel to drop car off and get Tranzsalpine train as in the same building.
Nice room. Slightly small in comparison to other hotels but good view as we were on top floor.
Ate in Jimmy cooks Kiwi restaurant in the hotel. Food superb had the best lamb in all of our New Zealand trip.
Best location I have stayed during my journey in New Zealand. Friendly and very helpful staff, clean and welcoming atmosphere. Lovely decoration and furniture with an eye to detail! Although Greymouth itself was not the most stunning place to me, the Global Village made my stay super awesome.
Located not far from SH6 the ocean on one side and the rain forest, where the property is, on the other. Close to four of the loveliest short walks, including the treetops which in my opinion is New Zealand Aotearoa's answer to the Eiffel tower.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable, with a view out over the river. It was within walking distance to shops and restaurants. We had breakfast at the hotel, which was very good.
What’s up boutiques style motel. The owners offer a no host dinner, which was amazing and we suggest you opt in when they ask if you would like to join in the dinner. The dinner is a great bargain the food is delicious.
The staff was excellent--especially the person who checked us in, showed us around, worked at the bar and restaurant, and checked us out. She was a joy! The hotel is located next to a beach and had a full restaurant.
Walking in the door and seeing the sea view WOW.. Beautiful unit, quiet, beds comfy. Great hosts. Could not fault anything. One of the best motels weve stayed in, in along time. Cant wait to go back
Location near the centre of town. Reasonably quiet even though on the main road with a busy secondary road behind (like 80% of Greymouth motels). Our unit was at the back. We would recommend that.
Handy to town
Right next to a restaurant
Ten to fifteen min walk to beach, hospital and supermarket
Nice wee children's play area
Pet friendly on request
Great value for money
Travelled on motorcycle and hotel provided a lock up bike park. Very secure. Old hotel. Only available accomodation for weekend, at $60 per night it was comfortable and clean.
great friendly staff, great for a chat and super professional.
although there were building works being done the motel complex was super tidy and staff super accommodating.
Best hostel in New Zealand so far on this trip. Very clean, including the kitchen. Beds were incredibly comfortable. Hot showers, nice toilets. Love the overall vibe!
