Casa De Cha Prazeres, hotel in Prazeres

Set in Prazeres, 25 km from Porto Moniz Natural Swimming Pools, Casa De Cha Prazeres offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace.

Very quiet place (even that it's at a road, but small village, just a few cars). We could sleep well. Hosts are very nice and kind. At breakfast there's freshly squizzed orange juice and they really make it right there for you. You can ask for eggs by your choice. Simple breakfast but enough to start the day and keep you running. Good location to go around for hikes. PR19 starts nearby too, but many places can be easily reached by taxis. There are more restaurants nearby, our favourite was Abrigo das Prazeres, 2 minutes walk. We had the best poncha here on the island. Wifi is only at the reception area but it was ok for us. (Not in the rooms) The rooms has a big terrace door and they open to a garden.

Calheta Beach - All-inclusive - Savoy Signature, hotel in Prazeres

Savoy Calheta Beach, facing the Atlantic Ocean, is located on Calheta Beach. This 4-star hotel features indoor and outdoor pools, spa, gym and access to the sea via the beach.

We loved the accommodating staff who really excelled in ensuring our comfort. We were thrilled with the variety of options within the buffet- it was really accessible to eat healthily and going with a young son he had lots of options including porridge which were all baby friendly and sugar free. Very grateful for GF options too. Gym is good and the sauna is very good and quiet. Ze in reception was outstanding, as were our cleaners and the gentlemen at the buffet restaurant who all went above and beyond. There’s a playground close by (walking distance) which is awesome for children!

    Prazeres is a small village.

Prazeres is a small village. It does have a restaurant and a bar but that's about it - we did not hang out there much. You can do a levada walk that starts from Prazeres, which is nice, and close by (~15 min drive) are Calheta beach, Paul do Mar, and Jardim do Mar, which are tiny beach villages which have a couple of nice restaurants. The north coast and Funchal are at a 40 minutes drive. If you have a car, the location is nicely located; if you don't, I wouldn't choose this spot, because there isn't much to do in Prazeres itself.

Prazeres is a small town in the western part of Madeira and is a good base for exploring and walking. It is located just off the main road from Funchal and is well connected for travel across the western half of the island. There are several fine restaurants right there in the town serving authentic Madeiran food.
