I must admit that, having made a booking for a stay at Villa Alma, I ended up being forced to cancel it at the last minute for unforeseen reasons. Under the reservation terms, I would still be required to bear a full charge - but the utterly courteous and understanding manner in which the property handled my request to waive that charge is by itself deserving of all praise. I will most certainly try to come and visit at a later date and will recommend the property to other people as well.

Snäck Annex is very conveniently located not far from the town center, with some sights nearby (f.i. the rauk, a natural phenomenon, called "The Chimp").
Parking is offered with the booking, which is very convenient. The Baltic is just opposite and to our surprise, you can even go swim closeby, this is included. The host/ staff is also very easy to deal with in terms of late arrival and early checkout.
We had booked only 1 night here as we were between stops, but would definitely return to enjoy the area for a longer duration.
The room is very good in size, the bathroom has everything you need.
The cozy chalet by the sea feeling is just very nice!

After I complained about the room in the Börsen Annex, I was given a standard double room in the main hotel building, including breakfast (free of charge). The staff were very polite and helpful. Breakfast options were varied and appropriate for travellers with various dietary requirements.

Visby is easy to be without a car, we walked everywhere.
Visby is easy to be without a car, we walked everywhere. Apart from the centre with all of the historical buildings we went for a walk to the cliffs which was incredible. Another place to walk is a promenade with beautiful views. We also visited a library which is exceptional and also have a cafe. We were in pizzeria Milli Lire in the centre with fantastic pizza and service. We highly recommend Italian restaurant Isolabella where we went for lunch buffet fro food and service. There are some nice shops with locally made products that we recommend.

We loved Visby!
We loved Visby! There were excellent restaurants with reasonably priced food. The town is so picturesque and feels authentic almost like we had stepped back in time. We loved wandering around and seeing the town and the ruins of the churches. We wanted to visit each of the gates and it was delightful to walk around the outside of the wall and get the since of its height. We were delighted with the botanical garden, it was small but lovely. The museums were very good and helpful. We especially enjoyed the part of the ancient artifacts, the Viking graves and picture stones which we then were able to see in situ as we explored the island. We were there mid Oct. some things were closed but on the other hand there were very few people and was uncrowded.

Oh, Visby is magical and I must return for a longer stay in the future. The cobblestone streets, the parks, the walk around the wall, the restaurants. The ruins, the museum were great. We absolutely loved it. Big enough to have plenty to do and see, small enough to do it at a relaxed pace.

I loved everything about Visby, I was there alone I need it a break. And I was amazed by the beauty of the landscape, people were very lovely, very helpful. Very calm, a lot of things to see, very unique cafés, a lot of parks, wall tower should be definitely in your list, interesting story! And also during the sunsets you should be at the beach it was a life performance from the birds everyday :) I will definitely visit Visby at some point during the summer time!

It is a quaint town, people are very friendly and helpful .
It is more of a place to go and rent a cottage and cook your self and explore all of Gotland on bike or hike.
Definitely not a romantic get away place.
Located in the middle of the city, so easy to walk anywhere. Nice and comfortable room and other spaces too. Room had a fan which was a nice surprice during summer heats. Possibility to cook in own room and own fridge, also possibility to use common space for cooking. I think some rooms did not include a stove and a fridge. Easy check-in and check-out, just use code when arriving and then pick up keys. There were no loud sounds to be heard from main square area bars even the window was open.
We stayed in a dog friendly stuga. It was a very nice surprise to know that we did have a private bathroom. I didn’t know. There are two bunk beds, the space is limited but enough for us to move around. Easy access to Visby yet away from the noise. It was great to have access to breakfast buffet if we wanted to.
My daughter enjoyed the playground and my doggy enjoyed having the forest right behind. Nice that dogs are welcome and that you don’t need to pay extra.
The view from probably the tallest resident building on Gotland is WOW. From the terrace on the 11th floor is huge and you can sit in the lounge sofas and overlook the landscape and the sea for hours without getting bored. The beds are also a highlight, you use a remote controler to adjust your bed position. Within walking distance down the hill you reach the seaside restaurant for lunch or dinner. The flat has everything you need for a happy holiday on Gotland
A nice hotel in an old building on a quite street. Reception manager was super nice and helpful, let us choose the room we liked best (number 202 had a big window😊). There is a car parking on the property (inside the wall in Visby it means a lot). Bed was super comfortable, a real double bed with no gap in the middle. Bathroom was clean, smelled strange at first but the smell disappeared after the first shower. In an old building that’s understandable.
Very easy to get our key at night from the lock box, no issue getting in the room. Very large, had 2 bedrooms + 2 bathrooms downstairs and a kitchen and living room upstairs. Very comfy. Wi Fi was good. We didn't use the washing machine but it was there. Very close to shopping and sites in Visby. The courtyard outside our apartment was nice.
Great location.
The hotel the located right in front of the ferry terminal but 1-2km away from the Visby old town. So you would need to either walk a few kilometers or rent a car or a bicycle. Greate range of food for breakfast. You need to book a time slot at the hotel's restaurant for breakfast. The room and bathroom were spacious. The staff was very helpful and pleasant.
Ingela and Jerker are so wonderful and lovely hosts! Their hospitality was extraordinary:
we got 4 bikes, they invited us for typical swedish „fika“ with homemade cake, and gave us special tips on what to do on Gotland. Very nice is hearing the sound of the ocean waves on the front porch. The house is wonderful! We really enjoyed living there for 4 weeks:)
It was like a hotel in the forrest. Huge property. We were on the 2nd floor facing the ocean and the sunsets were outstanding. Very quiet place. Big park to play at within the grounds. Can rent bikes at a reasonable rate right from the hotel. Breakfast was very good also. The staff at the front desk was very very nice and helpful!
It's definitely the best place to stay on Gotland.
Beautifully located (fab sunsets!), very clean and well equipped, has everything you need or more. Torgny the owner is very friendly and responds immediately to every question. It was my second stay here - and I will definitely come back again!
Very nice little house with a lot of hang-out areas and a beautiful shared space with jumping mat and a nice little patio with barbecue. The area is also very near a walking road all the way to Visby and you can walk there by foot. Dog were allowed and host was very friendly.
the double balconies were amazing: we had sun in the morning and the afternoon! the studio was super spacious and felt incredibly comfortable for two people. we felt so at home and will definitely be back!
The view from the apartment room was marvelous, and the staff were very friendly as well! We asked them to call a taxi to the airport, and was quickly taken care of.
