Loved this place, loved the open layout of the main floor & the privacy of the bedroom upstairs. The owner was such a great lady to interact with. We have a daughter that lives approx. 15 minutes away, so we plan to try to make this our only place to stay whenever we visit.

It was an absolute treat to stay at Tony’s place. We enjoyed the hot tub in the middle of a beautiful forest, the porch for relaxing, the large bed with very soft sheets, breakfast & dinner outside on the terrasse. The Wifi is really excellent. The Food Line store down in Berkley Springs has a fantastic healthy line up. The view from the Mountain Overlook platform in Cacapone State Park is fantastic. We also hiked Paw Paw tunnel & enjoyed a swim in Potomac River. Fantastic surroundings to explore & enjoy.

Upon arrival for check in, the kid behind counter told me there was no reservation in computer under my name. Asked if I had a different name. I showed him email conformation from Booking.com of my reservation. He stated no rooms were available, and offered no explanation. All he did was stare at computer. We left and got a room at another hotel and had a great weekend. We will not be staying at Hancock Motel in future and don't recommend booking a room here. You just might end up with no room at all when you get there.

I arrive in the evening so I LOVE going to Buddy Lou's for dinner - even open on Sundays. Great music, friendly service, delicious food and wonderful selection of antiques to peruse. And it's only 5 minutes from the hotel, right off 522, easy on/off.

Hancock is a great place for bike riders.
Hancock is a great place for bike riders. The Western Maryland Rail Trail passes through it along with the C & O Canal Towpath. Park & Dine has great blueberry pancakes. Weaver's Family Restaurant has great pies and other desserts.
The room was spotless and breakfast was your basic continental one; pastries, cereal, milk, juice and coffee but was well stocked and the staff was courteous. Would definitely stay here again. A word of caution. There is no elevator to the second floor so if you have mobility issues, be sure to call the hotel directly to request a first floor room. If you have a pet, there is an additional $15.00 pet fee (cash only), due at check-in.
We chose this hotel because of its proximity to the bike trail, and thoroughly enjoyed our rides. We spent little time in the hotel. Despite Wyndham sign on front door stating the that masks were required in common spaces indoors, neither hotel staff nor other guests complied. Maintenance was badly needed in the bathroom, where the shower head leaked all over the floor.
Super 8 is an adequate hotel in Hancock for those biking the C&O Canal Trail and wanting a room and shower. The hotel is close to town and fairly close to restaurants, etc. Rooms are sufficient - nothing special but plenty clean and comfy. Breakfast includes coffee and a granola bar.
This was a fun motel to stay it. Built in the 50’s? it had real character. The television and WiFi worked. The bed was comfortable. The water was hot. The staff was very helpful.
