The location is second to none, incredible ocean and mountain vistas almost wherever you look, but what really made this experience something special are the staff, they are attentive, engaging and friendly. What really struck me about the staff is how much they actually care about your experience, always asking “can I help you with x” or “we can do y if that’s better for you” etc without skipping a beat!
Featuring free WiFi, Walkerbay Accommodation offers accommodation on the seafront in Franskraalstrand, 26 km from Hermanus. Free private parking is available on site.

Amazing view and very well situated.
Anmarie is very welcoming and always spoils us way too much with yummy rusks and other baked goods. There is a nice sized fridge, and the jug of milk is a generous extra, which is much appreciated!
The hospitality of the people was genuine.
The overall scenery of the town, beach, and ocean are beautiful.
The safety of the guesthouse and surroundings were comforting.
The host, Johannes, personality is like meeting a friend.
I will go back again.

Small, laid-back town with many activities in and around and some good restaurants. I also enjoyed visiting nearby towns like Hermanus & Stanford. Highlights were Shark Cage Diving, Klein River Cheese Farm and the Elgin Valley Wine Farms. Some nice hiking options in the area as well & De Kelders is great for whale watching and walks along the ocean.

Gansbaai still feels like a real fishing town although there is a big centre with Spar as the main tenant.
There is a lot to do if you are someone that needs to stay active: walking trails, horse riding, wine tasting, and bicycle routes. You can go shark diving or watch the seals at Dyer Island.
You can walk all the way from Kleinbaai to Franskraal or just relax on the beach.
You can play in the lagoon or swim in the sea. Never a dull moment.

There doesn’t seem like much to do this time of year unless you have reliable transportation. I guess it would be an ok home base but would still be a drive to anything. Beach access is almost impossible. If you want quiet with incredible views, this is your town. We did eat at a great restaurant but I think there are only a few places in town. It was tough to find a place for a pre dinner drink.
Linda and Deon are incredible hosts, making you feel at home, magnificient view from bed and balkony, very good breakfast, we recommend Deons special ,-). We had many dolphins swimming just of the shore, while having breakfast. One of the best places to watch wahles, during season (Jun to Nov.) There is plenty to do and explore in this area, and Linda and Deon made sure, that we had the best time. Would always prefer De Kelders over Hermanus. Highly recommended.
A very nice guesthouse that makes you feel at home abroad. Located directly on the cliff with an amazing view of the ocean and the whales 🐋. Mrs. Wallce took real good care of all our needs and treated us like family, breakfasts where great, she organized our dinners and got us tables at the best restaurants in town , cared for our transportation, etc.
We had a great time ,even the rain didn't ruin our holiday.
The apartment was very good value, although basic had everything that was needed. Needed to keep a window open as condensation was a problem but the bed was comfortable, the shower was hot, walkable distance from the cliff path. Great cafes nearby especially Gansbaai Bakery. Great service food ,really quirky.Chantal and Francois were really helpful and offered loads of advice about local area.
This house feels like holiday! Everything is neat, clean and thoughtfully planned for your comfort. The kitchen is well-equipped. The glassed in braai patio lets you enjoy the view while relaxing and braaiing even in bad weather. There were ample heaters and warm blankets on our bed. The host was most welcoming, friendly and responsive.
If you are looking for a holiday destination that is peaceful and without the busy of other destinations then Gaansbaai is for u.
McLaren self catering is the place for u to stay with family, has everything u require to keep yourself fed and accommodated while on holiday.
Thank you Leigh
Chris and his wife went out of there way to accommodate us and ensure that we are comfortable. Their friendly reception and daily chec ups were highly appreciated. I will definately recommend Whale Watch to anyone going in the direction of Gansbaai.
remarkable piece of fynbos heaven. remote yet close to Stanford and Gansbaai. vistas out every window .rustic but everything you need a 4x 4 gives you access to a beach all to yourself. wonderful

This was the perfect little hotel to enjoy Gansbaai. The owners are incredibly hospitable and welcoming. The hotel and rooms have a great view of the ocean. Overall recommended!
An incredible stay at this Boutique Hotel. Very homey vibe, yet professionally managed and extremely well presented. Food was outstanding, view from our room was unmatched.
It was self catering. The hosts took us to the nature reserve and we had breakfast on the rocks with the most amazing views. Gansbaai is so peaceful and tranquil.
Service was exceptional. Staff was friendly. The bed I slept in made me feel like I'm on cloud 9. The breakfast was delicious. And they didn't have cheap coffee!!!
