Boasting a terrace and a bar, Chez Maria Julia Boutique Hotel is situated in Praia, 600 metres from Cova Figueira Beach and 1.1 km from Praia de Quebra Canela. After 2 weeks on Santiago this is the only place I genuinely would recommend. First of all, the location. The famous Plateau is good only for a very short visit. This area is much nicer, safer, more relaxed. There are a lot of beautiful and colorful houses around, as well as many really nice restaurants / bars and the central beach (which is really good!) - all within 15 min walk max. The owner of the hotel really pays attention to every single detail. The staff is not just friendly, they are also very professional and truly understand what does it mean to work in HoReCa (which is rarely the case on Santiago unfortunately!) My stay was super comfortable and I appreciated that everyone was going above and beyond to make me feel welcomed and relaxed. I was very touched when I didn’t feel too well and the owner made sure to constantly check on me and provide me with everything and anything needed. The restaurant and bar by the hotel are very nice as well, overall it felt like a very fair value for money and I wish I’d make this place my main base during my trip.

Vivi Hotel offers accommodation in Praia. There is a games room on site and guests can enjoy the on-site bar. Every room at this motel is air conditioned and features a flat-screen TV. Amazing staff, spacious rooms and great location. Good breakfast até te rooftop. Special thanks to the day shift guy and was great to know Vivi the owner!

Everything was just very simple, the place is beautifully decorated, mosquito nets in the bedroom and at the windows, the breakfeast was perfect for me and the host (Marina) was super nice as well, giving me recommendations on what to do, safety etc

The hosts are really considerate of us and they do quick responses. I highly recommend staying here.
