Casa Velha do Palheiro Relais & Chateaux is a 5-star manor house hotel situated in the old Palheiro Gardens in the foothills of Funchal. Words simply cannot convey how wonderful our experience was. The resort is stunning, the service is superior, the food is extraordinary, and there are so many thoughtful and meaningful touches that make this truly an experience instead of just a vacation. We received champagne, scrumptious desserts. The hotel staff quickly memorized our names and always greeted us warmly. Thanks to Luis(team), Sergio, Vanessa and Diana. The food is the absolute best we've ever eaten. We didn't want to leave and are already thinking about a return trip in the coming months!

I couldn't try the pool since it was too cold during my stay (January 2024), but it did look good. Loved my stay overall

The house and gardens are stunning, we particularly enjoyed spending time on the balcony and walking around the banana plantation. The bed was super comfy! Communication was exceptional and they were able to accommodate our early arrival time. Thank you!

We immediately fell in love with the view, it's breathtaking. The apartment is nice, spacious and the terrace offers lots of space to relax. Localization is perfect - close to the city center, but you can also easily reach the main road to other cities.

Also, in 7-15 min you can get to anywhere you want in Funchal, and max 45min to anywhere on the island. We could not have picked a better "home" for our trip! On top of all this, the hosts are also amazing, doing everything they could to make our trip perfect! 100% would return to the same choice, over and over again!
