I wish I has planned to hang out around the hotel. Instead I was out everyday. Once you enter the hotel, you are in an enclosed 'secret' garden with the river flowing past. The breakfast - a selection of local Thai food and western cereals, etc. was great. Machine brewed coffee and biscuits/cookies available around the clock is an excellent idea. A great supermarket, five eating places - different budgets, styles and palates are within 5 minutes on foot (including one across the river accessible via the iconic 'Iron Bridge' Khualek).
