The guesthouse is situated perfectly in order to have access to the Durham city center, but also feel out of the bustle of the city. The staff consistently went above and beyond to make us comfortable and ensure we enjoyed our stay. I cannot recommend them enough!

We had a great afternoon and evening at the inn. The Sunday roast was the best we have had in the UK. The room was spacious, spotless and tastefully decorated. We stopped on the way from Edinburgh for an overnight stop. Our only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer.

The best part was The warm personal welcome and care for a guests needs. My room, the lounge, the breakfast room, and the bathroom were all of old fashioned, leaning to Victorian beauty and comfort. The breakfast was superb with locally sourced butcher’s bacon and sausage far superior to the supermarket fare I’ve been served in cafes. Breakfast was prepared with attention to aesthetic appearance as well as delicious taste. The room and bathroom were thoughtfully supplied with everything one could need from face cloth to a luxurious bathrobe with thick, plush towels and bedding, good heating, and more amenities in between.
