Situated in Kumamoto, an 40-minute walk from Hosokawa Residence Gyobutei, Hiroshimaya provides air-conditioned accommodation with free WiFi. This place is absolutely incredible! The hosts are kind and sweet, the facilities are cosy, and the space is soothing and aesthetic. The building apparently is 100 years old, so it has a very traditional Japanese character which is exactly what you want from a trip here. The hosts also volunteered to drive me to the train station so I would be on time for the next leg of my journey. I stayed here only overnight, but it's the sort of place that makes you wish you had stayed for longer.

Only a 2-minute walk from Senbabashi Train Station, Dyeing and Hostel Nakashimaya is a female only property that offers affordable accommodations with free Wi-Fi. Even better in person than in pictures! The decor is phenomenal, and so fun to look at everything, like a cute, calm museum. We loved the chill room upstairs where there's a huge collection of manga, English DVDs, massage chair. The roof terrace is cute with a view of Kumamoto castle all tiny and lit up. The host is super kind! Very very clean as well, and cute Ghibli music trinkles at the front entrance.
