Carefully restored and modernised traditional home, which has been stylishly decorated and has everything you could need for your stay. A 15 min walk from the port and just a few minutes to the main square or to the monastery and seafront restaurants. Comfortable lounge area and a large, well stocked kitchen with a washing machine. There are 2 bedrooms (1x double bed and balcony overlooking the monastery, 1x double bed and 1x single bed on a mezzanine level) and more sleeping options in the lounge downstairs. There are also 2 bathrooms which makes this home suitable for 2x couples or a family group. Multiple tvs, air con and kitchen appliances all very new and good communication with host.

Spacious terasse we njoyed, very well equipped, gave us some water and coffee and host was always available.

The house is exactly the same as in the photos and even better. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfy, and the kitchen was fully equipped. The location was easy to reach from the port, and very close to a fantastic beach. The hosts are very welcoming and total problem solvers. We are happy to stay here and looking forward to coming back!

What a discovery! This lovely little cave house, next to the ancient Athenian fortress, is a true tribute to simplicity. Remote, full of senses, sounds and views, waits to host anyone committed to the education values of Andre Breton. A big hug to the exceptional hosts and to the owner, Andreas, which was there to explain details and even to offer some fresh vegetables from his garden. We are back there, as soon as possible.

Located among picturesque, windy lanes of the village, quiet, short walk to everything. Tastefully decorated. Comfortable. Only property in the area with a terrace. Great communication with owner (in English) and caretaker (in Greek).

The property is near the port and easy to get around in the town. Nearby restaurants and café with great food and breakfast. The room & bathroom were clean had all we needed. The host was very helpful giving information for what we can do during our stay. We had a great time !! we will surely revisit. I recommend it for a pleasant stay.

The house was charming and full of character and the location was perfect - on the port side of Mandraki just by the town beach. The house was equipped with everything we could possibly need for our stay and Betty the owner was lovely. Particularly enjoyed the pretty little patio overlooking the communal orchards. There is no WiFi, but that's not necessarily a bad thing!

Very nice accommodation. Very central and quiet. We were very satisfied. Beautiful panoramic view. The house is very nicely furnished, nothing is missing. Very clean and cozy. As a family with two children, we were very satisfied. Even our children loved the house. Thank you for the comfortable accommodation and the help. Gladly again. There are a lot of good apartments in which to stay in Mandraki, which is a great base for Nisyros - it's lovely town full of original shops (you have to go to separate places for fruit, bread, provisions) and winding narrow streets, and tavernas along the promenade behind the sea wall. But there is only one Poseidon House. Other reviewers have mentioned the lack of dishwasher, the steep steps to bedroom, the lack of privacy on the terrace, the cramped bedroom, etc... We can see, and agree with all of these things. But they miss the point - this isn't any old house, it's a wonderfully imaginatively transformed building, where the accommodation is an attraction itself (rather than grumble at the lack of outdoor privacy, why not pretend you are celebrities in an exclusive location? ;-) We even took photos of other tourists for them, outside the front door) There are so many innovative, quirky, and creative features on a nautical theme, in keeping with its surroundings, with nothing "off the shelf" or from a Swedish furniture maker. The custom made seat cushions and kitchen work surface, the rope lighting above the bathroom sink, the mosaic flooring, the portholes instead of regular windows, the washing machine hiding in a small cupboard in the terrace, the old fashioned style of radio set, and so on. Each design element was thoroughly planned and artistically executed to enhance the overall experience of being in that location. It should certainly appeal to architects, interior designers, and people who sail.
