We stayed at Pen-Rhos in “Cuckoo’s Nest for four nights in mid January. The scenery surrounding the ‘cabin’ was breathtaking and there was enough space between each cabin for privacy. The space was small, but perfect for two and had every appliance we needed for meals and hot drinks. The bathroom was clean and the shower heated quicker than ours at home. Llandrindod Wells had a few pubs and grocery stores that were close and convenient. Surrounding cities like Newtown, Rhayader, and Builth Wells were great for pub dinners.

Number 22, Castle Street in Hay-on-Wye provides accommodation with free WiFi, 3.6 km from Clifford Castle, a 5-minute walk from Hay Castle and 1.5 km from Clyro Castle. Every millimeter of this house was a dream come true, seriously! Looks like something out of your country dreams, clean, comfortable, Windows you can sit and read in, so utterly beautiful, affordable, right in the middle of the town, small grocery store open late close by and lovely local vegetable shop too, stunning views, great modern kitchen with everything you need, lots of extra blankets, brochures about the area, books, cookbooks, fake fireplace, garden, open and comfy rooms, way more than enough for two people, welcome breakfast basket with bread, tea, coffee, marmelade... I could go on forever. If I'd like to come back? Just ju try to stop me!!

Situated in Llanafan Fawr, 45 km from Aberystwyth, Cwm Chwefru Holiday Cottages features a barbecue and sauna. Brecon is 30 km away. If you are looking for peace and quiet then this is the place, fantastic surroundings and only a short drive to town, decent facilities and beautiful grounds including a lake, very helpful and polite receptionist on site for most of the day, shame we did not stay longer but will return. 😍😍😍😍😚😍😍😍😘😘😘😘

Vale Farm Cottages are set on a farm 6.4 km from the Brecon Beacons National Park. The pet-friendly cottages feature either a sun room or a balcony offering mountain views. The view is amazing!! And the staffs are very nice! It's a must book if you have a car! The hot tub has a really nice view as well!

Hay Retreats is located in a quiet cul-de-sac near to the town Centre. There are two neighboring pet friendly townhouses, numbers 25 and 26. Location was great, loved being on the river. Enjoyed the walking bath a long the river.
