Offering a garden and garden view, Hanatsume Machiya House is set in Kanazawa, 1.6 km from Kenrokuen Garden and 1.4 km from Myoryuji - Ninja Temple. We loved everything. It was the perfect base and experience of Machiya. We spent evenings relaxing looking at the snow falling in the garden - the underfloor heating was amazing keeping the house warm and cosy. The location was great for exploring the Samurai museum and other temples in the area. Highly recommend it - we will definitely stay again when we visit Kanazawa.

This is the most comfortable sleep I had the entire time I was in Japan and I slept in many different places. It was nice being able to do our laundry. There's a full kitchen but we didn't use it. The bathroom had space for me to do my hair and makeup and even had a magnifying mirror. The host was very nice and welcoming. There was a book of instructions for all the appliances and electronics and the host even sent a list of preferred restaurants and other things nearby.

The house is lovely old - but has a lot of modern features, like very good double windows, a new bathroom and very good air-conditioning. We liked the area, because it was easy to walk to a lot of sights.
