The family is super kind and helpful and the rooms are spacious, cozy and clean. The facilities are great, there is an AC, there is a water dispenser and the breakfast is amazing. The location is also amazing, you are close to the temple, various nice restaurants and across the street is an amazing laundry service.

Janur Bungalow biedt accommodatie in Borobudur, in een dorp dat wordt omgeven door rijstvelden. Het beschikt over een buitenzwembad met een overstromingssysteem. De accommodatie ligt afgelegen, maar alles is binnen handbereik. Het terrein is een groene oase met enkele prachtige cottages. Het personeel is bijzonder vriendelijk en alles is erg schoon. De eigenaar besteed veel aandacht aan het ontbijt en op verzoek staat er binnen een handomdraai een Indonesische rijsttafel bij je op het terras. Ook geeft hij handige tips en regelt vervoer voor je met een mini-van en een even aardige chauffeur. Goede WiFi, goede service, airco en warm water. Heel erg tevreden! Absoluut 5 sterren wat betreft service.

Efata Homestay ligt op slechts 5 minuten lopen van de Borobudur-tempel en biedt schone en comfortabele kamers. In alle ruimtes is gratis WiFi beschikbaar. We did a night before Borobudur near the temple itself to avoid a day of 'tours' and travelling to see the temple, and it was a great decision because of our stay at Efata. Pre-stay communication was very useful as we would have otherwise not known we would have to pre-book tickets. On arrival, the family were incredibly kind and hospitable with lots of recommendations about what to do. Good room and great value for money. Super tasty breakfast too. Overall, a fantastic stay with a lovely local family. Cannot recommend enough!

44 Guest House Syariah ligt in Purwokerto, op 21 km van Owabong en 42 km van Mount Slamet. Guesthouse 44 was my second home for a week in Purwokerto. The room was not spacious, but it had all necessary appliances and good air conditioning. A double room was just enough for my luggage, so I suggest if you travel with a partner, get a bigger room, the price is really affordable. The bathroom might surprise you, because it has no sink, just a shower, and no mirror, which is somewhat inconvenient. The room was sparkling clean, the bed sheets and the towels smelled amazing, it was regularly cleaned and supplied with bottled water every day. As a foreigner, you might get some special treatment, as the managers are really caring and put in a lot of effort to be of best service. The breakfast is abundant, if you don't like the local style, they'll prepare you some pancakes, omelette and steamed vegetables, so as to make sure you don't go out hungry. It is a good idea to bring some small present for the lady and her husband who run the hotel (they are about 60) - it will make their day. At their place you will surely feel as a part of a big family. Please bear in mind, that although the hotel is near the city center, you cannot walk in Purwokerto, since the streets are bustling with cars and motorcycles and there are no sidewalks for pedestrians. Walking is really dangerous, so better take a taxi. And speaking of taxies, I can recommend this nice young taxi driver in Jakarta, working for the Bluebird company, who speaks perfect English and is a very honest and helpful person: +62 852-1258-2235 (Willy). You may contact him on WhatsApp in advance, and he'll pick you up at the airport, without an extra fee. I had to bargain with many taxi drivers when I arrived in Jakarta in order to get an almost fair price, while this one trusts his meter, so no need to worry. Good luck with your adventure!

The place was lovely and relaxing. The family was super sweet and while they didn't speak much English they made every effort to communicate with us. On arrival we were given drinks and home made snacks including a range of fruit from the garden. Dinner was cooked for us before settling in for the evening. Before sunrise they gave us a bike ride to the lookout point and had breakfast ready with a delicious homemade tea to send us off. We would happily stay again if we were in the area.
