Breakfast is amazing. What looks like a simple toast, bursts into a flavourful of happiness the moment you take the first bite. You also get freshly brewed coffee and juices for breakfast. 2. Great location. It's walking distance from the train station and also the boat ride for the gorge. It's also the last house on the street so it's very quiet at night. 3. Very reasonably priced for a private room. A really comfortable bed and the comforter is perfect for the cold weather as well. The room comes with an aircond/heater and also a humidifier. Towels are provided as well. 4. Showers are shared but it's no problem at all as it's kept very clean and during my stay I did not have to wait to use it. The shower gel and shampoo smells awesome. There's also a bath on the first floor that you can use by placing the magnet with your room number next to an available time slot on the board. 5. Staff were really nice and polite. I was able to store my backpack after checking out. 6. Aesthetically pleasing place as well, especially the dining area overlooking the field.

Set in Hiraizumi, less than 1 km from Motsuji Temple and 2.5 km from Chuson-ji Temple, Minpaku Suzuki offers air-conditioned accommodation with a terrace and free WiFi. I had an amazing stay there. The host were extremely friendly and tried to speak with me as much as possible, even though I can barely speak any Japanese. The room was a nice traditional style Japanese room with tatami and futon. The breakfast was amazing and probably the most nutritious breakfast I had in my entire life. Furthermore as already mentioned by other people they take you to the local onsen and restaurants by car. Overall a fantastic experience. Be aware: Due to the nature of the house it can get very cold in the room in winter. However the host will give you a heated mattress, an oil heater and multiple blankets to combat the low temperature which worked very well for me.

Situated 16 km from Chuson-ji Temple, Matakitai offers 1-star accommodation in Ichinoseki and has a garden. Very friendly host, we had a late check-in and he was ready for us to arrive. The room was nice, the common area had availability of tea and coffee and lots of stuff for reading.

Located just 2.3 km from Morioka Station, Buchoho No Yado Morioka features accommodation in Morioka with access to free bikes, a shared lounge, as well as a shared kitchen. Great staying in a Japanese house. It was self check in and instructions given before arrival sufficed. Having use of a bike made going round town a lot easier.

タカマス民宿 is located in Ōtsuchi, 10 km from Kamaishi Recovery Memorial Stadium, 18 km from Kamaishi Station, and 41 km from Iwate Prefectural Fishery Science Museum. I stayed longer than I intended. The little town radiates peacefullness. And so does this guesthouse. I felt so comfortable and respected here. I was so perfectly treated I just wanted to stay longer. I actually did. And I want to go back. Live at the end of the world again, feel that small measure of peace again.
