Staff is extremely nice and friendly. Area in barrio Escalante is also recommended, safe neighbourhood within walking distance of the city center.

Ester`s Place in Escazù. provides accommodation with, a garden and a terrace. All rooms boast a flat-screen TV with cable channels and a private bathroom. Ester was so welcoming and the hospitality was amazingly good. I will be booking with her again on my future trips to Costa Rica.

Hostel Casa Ridgway offers accommodation in San José. Free parking is available on site. The rooms are equipped with a shared bathroom equipped with a shower. The staff were so so cheerful and welcoming, I felt straight like being at home. The shared shower & toilet was spacious, and felt comfortable using. The kitchen, living room and several shared public spaces were really comfortable.

Gaudys Hotel is located 8 minutes’ walk from La Sabana Metropolitan Park and 2 km from San José City Centre. Free WiFi access is available in public areas. Great vibe, boys that work there are amazing! Good location, close to bus station, supermarket ... good filling breakfast included! I loved the atmosphere the most while i was there, it really felt like home ...

Family that runs the business is also living there so it felt more like a homestay than a hostel. Not many travellers while i was there, which i liked. Wifi worked perfectly. Neighborhood is full of fancy restaurants and for those on a budget there is a walmart in 20 min walking distance.

In the Wind Hostel and Guesthouse is set in the heart of lively, upscale San Pedro and only 400 meters from the University of Costa Rica and the student nightlife of Calle de la Amargura. Appreciated the cleanliness, quietness and the huge well made pancake for breakfast made by a very nice cook.
