Situated in Shingu, within 600 metres of Kamikura Shrine and less than 1 km of Kumano Hayatama Taisha, hanare features accommodation with a shared lounge and free WiFi throughout the property as well... Well located guesthouse, with easy self check-in process. The room was clean, the kitchen well organized, and the bathroom and shower also nice. I also enjoyed the free mikan :)

DJANGO Hostel & Lounge in Tanabe provides adults-only accommodation with a shared lounge, a terrace and a bar. Location was perfect and the double bed was very comfy. Rooms are small per Japan, but everything you would need was provided artfully in the room. Shared toilets and bathroom were very clean. Exceeded expectations for the price we paid.

Set in Nachikatsuura and with Nachi Beach reachable within 1.5 km, WhyKumano offers a shared lounge, non-smoking rooms, free WiFi throughout the property and a bar. Lucky to got the Tuna room (they got only one). Indoor WC and shower. Also got self service laundry machine (500 yen, wash and tumble dry). Very friendly staff. And 5 minutes walking to the tuna market.

Kumano Backpackers is located in Tanabe and features a shared lounge and a communal kitchen. The host was very friendly and helpful. He speaks English very well, so we did not have any misunderstanig. It was very kind of him to provide us snacks and a little meal for breakfast. Also we could use the kitchen to cook our breakfast. Jam, peanut butter, coffee, tea, cacao were included. Saying honestly it was the best place to stay during whole Kumano. We highly recomend this place.

A 5-minute walk from JR Kiitanabe Train Station, Buddha Guest House offers affordable dormitory-style accommodations with free Wi-Fi. The great host who provided a lot sightseeing suggestions and helpful with my next travel plan, also provide a place let me meet with Taiwan and SH travellers on during staying (nov 18). Got a fun and talk with sharing snacks on that night. Thank you so much. will stay the hostel again if visiting Tanabe next time Larry Luk

Lovely guesthouse and super friendly staff. Nice little restaurant around the corner and only 5 mins to Train and busstation. Great location to do Kumano Kodo from Nachisan.

Clean, modern and every item in the room was well thought out. Most importantly the human touch the hosts displayed. Makes you feel at home. Very helpful people.

Located in Minabe, within 11 km of Kozan-ji Temple and 13 km of Tokei Shrine, みなべゲストハウス provides accommodation with free bikes and free WiFi as well as free private parking for guests who drive. The guesthouses is located in a quiet area of Minabe amidst plum orchards. It is a renovated traditional house of a plum farmer, smells wonderfully of wood and is very peaceful. I had the best stay imaginable here, thanks to the friendly owner, the incredible house and the kind locals living in Minabe.

Set in Shirahama, 4.4 km from Tanabe City Museum of Art, Albany inn Shirahama アルバニーイン白浜 offers accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking. Very convenient location just 1 min walk from JR station. The room is clean & spacious.

Okinawa Minshuku Kariyushi offers cosy rooms with free WiFi access just a 4-minute walk from Shirahama Beach. I really felt at home here! Yes, there are minimal amenities, but it has a really cozy feeling to it. My room was quite spacious and very affordable. The staff is very kind and helpful, the manager recommended the best onsen to me, and knew which hot springs were tattoo friendly. He spoke English very well. It is a great location too, only a few minutes walk to the beach, and very close to the convenience store. I'm really happy I stayed here :)
