Location - situated around the mid-point of Chiayi TRA station and local sights (Alishan Forest Railway Garage Park, Hinoki Village, Song of the Forest) Landlady was very approachable and gave tons of advice from food recommendations and directions to buying bus tickets to Alishan. Amenities - very clean. Provided a lot of things that you would not expect, even from a hotel - makeup remover, toner, hair oil to name a few.

The hostel has a very huge common area where you can hang out, eat, or work. The room is spacious and clean. I literally see the staff clean every place (room, toilet, common area) on a regular basis. I had a good night sleep (except for that one night that I had a rude roommate, but that's outside of the hostel control.) The hostel is very near to a night market, so it was easy enough to find something to eat. The staff even recommended a place where I ate chicken rice bowl (and pork rice bowl the other day), and it was a good recommendation. Overall, I was glad I booked this place.

Light Hostel is located only a 10-minute walk from Chiayi Railway Station. It provides a convenient transportation, having two bus stations close to Hostel, and a 24-hour market nearby. I have a late night check-in and the hostel contact me for an auto-check in process, which is really nice and comfortable. Location is also super.

The staff was very helpful and nice.
