Really enjoyed it and the staff is so nice. Room was big, with a small kitchen area and a decent sized bathroom. The location might not be ideal if you are not travelling by car but the bus stop is near by so it’s doable. There are also various activities for children which was very nice.

The hotel is located on top of a hill on large grounds. It has a modernized interior and is kept spotlessly clean up to its very last corner. One still feels the Jesuit heritage; in fact, the order still owns the premises, but exploitation rights have been transferred to a social enterprise in Fribourg who also uses the place for seminars and to help people in difficulties. This secularization of purpose is also the reason the original "Notre-Dame de la route" was dropped from the name. I very much enjoyed the tranquility and peace that the compound exudes. There are no frills, but everything there is works to perfection. The continental breakfast is excellent, very fresh, on a wonderfully presented buffet. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended; the hotel is within walking distance to the sports center.

La Fleur de Lys is housed in a 350 year-old building right in the centre of the medieval town of Gruyère, 400 metres from Gruyère Castle, the Giger Museum and the Tibet Museum. I stayed for 3 nights. Everything was exceptionally good here. I highly recommend this place. Check-in and out: smooth, fast and easy Staff: always nice, kind and helpful Breakfast: the best. They make daily bread and pastries right there right before serving. They serve all kinds of müsli, cereals, fruits, juices and local cheeses (to name a few). Rooms: mine was spacious with a lot of storage, clean and with a nice view. Beds were comfy. The common guest room was the cherry on top. I could wake up very early for my morning walk and have some coffee there even before the breakfast was served.
