We took the night to through Tuanis with Bernie and I highly recommend it. We say everything and more. I would definitely stay here again.

Green Macaw Hostel is located in Tortuguero. The property is set 400 metres from Tortuguero National Park. At the economy hotel, the rooms include a patio and a shared kitchen. Everything. All you need to stay on the island. WiFi worked perfectly, the bedroom had a bed, fan (lifesaver) and enough room to put your stuff (even for two of us). There was room outside to chill on a hammock whenever you fancied. The owner was amazing and very accommodating. Was also great to chat to and have good advice about the rest of our travelling. The owners brother, Arturo, took us on all of our tours and absolutely made our stay amazing - he was a great guide and knew where everything was (we saw wild Caimans and Howler monkeys in our Canoe trip). Also gave us great recommendations for where to eat, didn’t disappoint.

Offering a year-round outdoor pool, Los Amigos Jungle Hotel is situated in Tortuguero in the Limon Region, Located 50 mtrs behind Liceo barra de Tortuguero. Simple place in the middle of wildlife - at the edge of the jungle and close to the beach. Good breakfast. The tour guides associated with the hotel were great. We had an early morning canoe tour with Bernie.

Cabinas Balcon del Mar Tortuguero is just 100 metres from hiking and fishing at Tortuguero National Park. Free WiFi access is available. The beach is just steps away. Great location. Very close to the beach and national park. Short walk to town. Hammocks to rest in outside. Quiet at night. I could hear the sound of the waves. Ask for a map of the town because at first it’s a little confusing. I think mostly locals stay here. No AC but it wasn’t needed. My room had 3 beds and a fan for each bed. The proprietor used an app to translate his Spanish into English for me. I was very pleased with this place.

Surrounded by an extensive garden and located 200 metres from Tortuguero National Park, Hostal y Cabinas Tortuguero features a terrace with hammocks and free Wi-Fi throughout. From the moment I walked through the gate I felt in heaven. Beautiful garden, staff super friendly. Bed comfy, hammocks outside room where I watched hummingbirds in the garden and green macaws flying over. Little handwritten welcome notes and gifts of earplugs/chocolate was so sweet.
