The Woodside in Doune was our favourite place to stay in all of the UK. It’s a charming little place with comfortable rooms and strong water pressure. The building is newly renovated so everything was clean and modern. They have an excellent restaurant with patio seating and breakfast is complimentary for guests. The menu selection was very good and included all the traditional Scottish fair. The best part for us was the staff. They were all super friendly and gave guest comfort the highest priority.

I would highly recommend both. they were informative and also just super fun. we are at the restaurant and had a lovely meal, the children’s menu is as good as the adults. We had a hit of tennis and explored the kitchen garden and it was magic. I would to come back and stay longer. Thank you!

After we left the city, we noticed that we had left our hot water bottle in our room, the staff kept it for us so we could get it back for our journey. So loving they're! For the location, it's easy to reach the hotel as it's very close to the train station. The room was clean and quiet, so we had a very good recovery from our long journey. amazing location, great restaurant and very nice staff!
Staff were great - all really warm and just made us feel very welcome. The room was spacious and clean - very comfortable. Location with views over the loch was awesome. We'll be back!
good, tasty breakast, histoic environment
The bed (bed linen / pillowcases): exceptionally fresh and clean - spotlessly so. As was the room (including the bathroom) generally - the room was really nice. The hotel has a nice, pleasant atmosphere in a lovely and peaceful part of Scotland - start from Aberfoyle to get to either end of Loch Katrine, including starting at one end of 'Duke's Pass' at Aberfoyle to get to the Trossachs Pier end of the loch (the 7-mile 'Three Lochs Forest Drive' is between these two points and is well worth a detour, as are 'The Lodge' & the Go Ape adventure activities hub (the last two are about a mile up the Duke's Pass hill from Aberfoyle's main road)). There's the NCR 7 for cyclists. The hotel is also a few miles from the Lake of Menteith, which is very serene and a favourite place of mine. The staff were really nice, friendly and helpful.
Very clean and comfortable room. Very nice comfortable lounge/conservatory to relax in. Very close to centre of Drymen but very peaceful. Great value for money. Would very happily stay again.
