In the Rio Dulce river near a 16th century castle the Tortugal Boutique River Lodge peninsula is bathed by almost constant on shore breezes providing a cool and refreshing place. food and services was great, Leo was very helpful in any thing that we needed, great work Leo.

El Hotelito Perdido is a little jungle hideaway located in a middle of Rio Dulce National Park. This hotel is amazing. We stayed in a hut in the middle of the jungle. The hut itself was thoughtfully designed with rare tropical wood like mahogany. It was beautiful, comfortable, quiet and the surroundings were magical. Tim and his team are the most wonderful hosts. The food is healthy and delicious. This place is a hidden gem.

Hotel Posada Stella Maris se află în Puerto Barrios și include cazare de 5 stele, o grădină și un lounge comun. There is big enough and clean room with nice moutain views balcony. Also there is shared kitchen can be used. Very warm and helpful host. It is located Santo Tomas de castile, easy to take a taxi ( 30 GTQ ) or chicken bus( 3GTQ) from puerto Barrios center. Recommend to take couple days to chill out. There is walkable to beach and waterfall. The accommodation fee all goes to charity.

Reserva Natural Cañón Seacacar se găsește în Izabal, la 45 km de Castillo de San Felipe de Lara, și oferă o grădină, o terasă și parcare privată gratuită. Perfect place hidden in a small village. It’s the only accommodation in the village and has been build to help the local community. The first language in the village is Q’eqchi, the children are now learning Spanish in school from about age 5. The staff of the hotel is from the village and for them it is a place to learn and work in tourism. They are all very friendly and helpful. If you want to have a great Guatemalan experience in one of the most beautiful places of Guatemala, where the crowds don’t go (yet), this is where you want to go! I reached the hotel by a two hour trail that is insanely beautiful, constructed by the people of the village, easy to follow and a good climb to two wooden miradors with lake and jungle views. Always with the sound of absolutely fantastic river ‘sauce’ on the background. The next day I went down on a tube and they carried my bag down. The tubing in the river is what will drop your yaws!! Absolutely beautiful, a cañón with high Walls on both sides. Everything is well organized and clean. It absolutely worth a visit! I’m writing this review because I could not believe that I was the only tourist there (on a Saturday)! You will not regret your visit and you will probably (hopefully) write a similar review to help this village and the people creating a better future for there town. There are several projects ongoing, including deforestation! Go and enjoy jungle, river and peace while enjoying great food and comfortable accommodation(affordable too!)

Livingston Resort Hotel se găsește pe malul mării în Lívingston, la câțiva pași de Plaja de Nord din Livingston, și oferă diverse facilități, printre care o grădină, o terasă și un bar. The pool was amazing and has heating, allowing you to enjoy it even late at night. The food was amazing, I tried all of the pasta places in town and none came close to match theirs.

Hotel Kangaroo y Restaurante se găsește în Rio Dulce și are o grădină, un lounge comun, un bar, și WiFi gratuit în întreaga proprietate. The little cabañas are very nice and comfortable! All the staff is helpful and caring. Karina helped us a lot while we were trying to plan our next steps…100% recommended 😌

Hotel La Casa Rosada se găsește în Lívingston și are o grădină, o terasă, un bar, și WiFi gratuit în întreaga proprietate. Good location on the water, places to seat and hammocks. The place got a restaurant with a lot of options. Also you can rent boards / kayaks and book tours / shuttles.

Hotel El Reformador se află în Puerto Barrios și include cazare de 4 stele, o grădină, o terasă și un bar. Breakfast was excellent. We were all super excited about the pillows not being flat like our previous location. Great stay for a quick trip.

Banana Palms Hotel se găsește în Rio Dulce, la 13 minute de mers pe jos de Castillo de San Felipe de Lara, și oferă o piscină în aer liber, o grădină, un lounge comun și parcare privată gratuită. River view, restaurant & amenities were just right!
