El Sun Royal Hotel está situado a 15 minutos en transporte gratuito de la estación de tren JR de Kagoshima-Chuo. 🏨 I chose this hotel mostly for the views over Sakurajima and it did not disappoint. For the extremely fair price it was a great view, both from the room in my case and from the hot bath. Staff was great and extremely accommodating, and they seem to spoke a variety of different languages. It was possible to leave luggage for storage before checking in. The hotel is huge, and seems to be oriented to weddings or other similar events, but for a solo stay it still was a good choice. 📍 The location is not overly convenient, but there are free shuttle buses to/from JR Kagoshima-Chuo station and to Tenmonkan. Unfortunately, they have limited operation time, check the hotel for the timetable. At the time of my stay, the first bus from the hotel left only at 8-30, not early, and the first bus from the station left only at 13-00. There are however very convenient city buses, especially no. 16 that connect both to JR Kagoshima-Chuo and to the ferry terminal / aquarium. On the positive side — there's a large convenience store just outside the hotel. There's also even a souvenir shop at the premise of the hotel. 🚪 The room was big, and as mentioned, with a great view of Sakurajima from the balcony in my case. The noise isolation was great. There even was a radio built in the bedside table with options of spoken word and background music. 🛀🏽 The bathtub in the bathroom was of a very good size to be actually used as a bathtub. 🍱 Breakfast was exceptional, a huge buffet with a tremendous variety of options rarely seen in such amount elsewhere. 🛜 Wi-fi worked well in the room and in the common area. ♨️ There's a common hot bath with a great view over Sakurajima (obviously the view is there when it's not dark). It's a nice bath, not very crowded. There are small lockers for items like keys and phones.

Desde € 39 por nocheLa ubicación es perfecta porque sales del barco y llegas enseguida, muy bien señalizado con el letrero de Gracias. En el interior no le falta detalle, su propietaria es encantadora y nos hizo muy buenas recomendaciones, es el mejor apartamento en el que me he quedado en mis seis viajes. Además Kagoshima tiene muchas cosas que ver en un día y regresar al apartamento. No dejéis de venir a esta zona de Kiushu tiene una gastronomía estupenda y precios baratos, no os perdáis Ibusuki, Chiran y Takochiho.

The location was easy to walk to or catch a bus or ride a taxi. The Onsen and spa facilities were amazing. The restaurant served great food. The small shop had delicious ice creams and omiyagi. Our package included a Japanese breakfast which was delicious. We stayed in the newer part of the hotel. It was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and super helpful… even insisting on carrying our hiking packs for us! Would book again without hesitation.

Very clean and comfortable, slightly bigger than other rooms we’ve stayed in in Japan (there was a double bed with a pull-out cot). Good location on a tram stop and just around the corner from main shopping area and a short walk in the other direction to the port area for the Sakurajima ferry and aquarium. Netflix option on TV, fridge and kettle in room. Self-service laundry facilities were useful and front staff were very friendly and helpful.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. There was a typhoon coming as I checked into the hotel. The restaurant was only available for pre-booked guests and the staff supplied me with alternative food until the restaurant could accommodate me the following night for dinner and breakfast the next day. Without them I would have been sick with hunger. Thank you The restaurant food was amazing Japanese food which I would out have had anywhere else in Japan.
