Atlantic Garden Boutique Hotel is a wonderful hotel right in Swakopmund town, near the beach and restaurants. Everything is convenient and safe to walk to. There is even a Spar grocery store a block away. The hotel is very well decorated inside, even though the exterior building is not as chic. All the rooms are on the ground floor and some even have ocean views. The room had all the features I look for in a hotel room - big bed with many pillows, great AC, fridge, space for luggage, excellent WiFi, a sink with counter space, and a fully enclosed shower so water doesn't go everywhere. The breakfast was excellent. There was a great spread of fairly healthy food and then you could order eggs and bacon. I loved the thick yogurt and fresh fruit salad. The hotel staff was lovely and always had a smile on their faces. I highly recommend this hotel.

Khan River Lodge features an outdoor swimming pool, garden, a terrace and restaurant in Wilhelmstal. With a bar, the 3-star hotel has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi. Khan River Lodge is a secluded location, wild and highly scenic, surrounded by private land. It is about 20 km off the B2 road, which we did not quite realize until we got there. The drive itself is a lot of fun, as we saw lots of wildlife, but it is a mix of sand and dirt, challenging for smaller cars without 4WD. The property is cozy, with only about six double-occupancy units, of which we were occupying two (we were traveling as two adults and two older children). The "restaurant" is the lodge kitchen: two wonderful ladies preparing delicious meals and serving them in style. There is no posted menu, but the daily food offerings are artfully presented and tasty, based on local produce and meat. We did not realize we would be the only guests -- and we booked the self-catering option, counting on eating at the restaurant. We had booked self-catering options in other locations, but never realized how remote this one was. Upon arrival, we learned that the expectation for "self-catering" was that we would bring our own food and not need the restaurant. Since the property was just opening after the New Year holiday, they had to scramble a bit, but were kind enough to accommodate (read: feed) us. We loved the meals and the ambiance, the quiet, the lack of light pollution at night, the variety of wildlife roaming around the property, and the laid-back atmosphere -- self-service honesty bar, well-stocked and open to us at all hours.

The staff is amazing and very welcoming. They were willing to go an extra mile and went as far as booking activities for us.

The uniquely designed Beach Lodge is located in Swakopmund and features a restaurant, bar and BBQ facilities. The hotel has a garden and offers uninterrupted views of the Atlantic Ocean. Great beach hotel. It is what it says -- a great little hotel RIGHT ON THE BEACH. The pictures are true... our patio door walked right out onto that lovely green lawn and then to the beach. It was great that they offered a family room, it had a nice patio and small fridge and coffee/tea station. It wasn't the most elegant decor, but it was clean and completely met our needs for a beach get away. Free parking -- it was tight to get to our assigned spot, but the car gaurd was always on duty to help ease one into the space.

The Strand Hotel felt like an oasis after coming from the desert…extremely welcoming staff everywhere, sumptuous yet cozy interieur, a extremely varied breakfast buffet with endless choices and 3 restaurants incl. outdoor & sea facing terras/bar in house - there was nothing we could ask for on top of that!
