Located next to the marina in the scenic town of Flåm, the accommodation includes free WiFi and magnificent views of the Sognefjord. We took the Aurlandfjord cruise and make decision to stay at flam for a night. I believe I made the right decision to select Flam Marina as the terrace view is face right to the front of the Fjord. We have the pleasant stay before moving to Flambana train line on the next day.

I loved the French decor and Edith Piaf and others continuously steaming through cached speakers in the hallways and rooms. The bathrooms had brilliant marble and fun ceiling mirrors. Even with the impressive decor, the staff is what stole the show. Princess was the first to greet us. She answered all our questions, gave us important information about Bergen, shared recommendations, and gave us a packed breakfast for the day we had to leave early for our fjord tour. Joyce, Alexis, Stef, and Paul, also deserve special shout outs. They were professional, accomadating, and excellent at anticipating our needs. They called taxis, prepared packed breakfasts, found seats at the hotel, and just made us feel welcomed. This hotel gets an A++ for its special staff and customer service practices. Finally, it’s an interesting concept that I’ve only seen in movies where the hotel guests can get “taken up” into the busyness and crowds of the brasserie. The Charmante is a hotel but I learned that people are really into the French cuisine & wines at the restaurant. As we came during the Christmas season and within the first 3 months of the hotels opening it was VERY busy with dinner guests— but I loved the buzz. And if some do not like this, they can just go to their rooms— the noise does not follow :-)

The hotel, which was built in the 19th century (wow!), is absolutely charming both inside and outside. A special thanks I want to say to the family who runs the hotel. They did a really great job of making all the visitors feel comfortable. The family owners invest so much love and attention to detail in this place, you can feel it. Everything is perfectly clean and beautiful. In addition, perfect sleep with the sounds of a waterfall as a bonus.

The Lodgen consists of a historical house with several rooms, a heavily remodeled barn turned into a bar with modern rooms on top, and a garden area with sauna, jacuzzi, fire pit, bbq, kitchen etc. The place has been designed for outdoor life (there's a drying area in the basement) and meeting people either in the garden, at the kitchens, in the house, at the bar, or in the jacuzzi! It has a very relaxed and chill vibe, and Hans, the host, has plenty of recommendations for hikes, activities, etc. and makes sure everyone is comfortable.

Beautiful location and extremely nice room equipped with everything you need, plus a terrace and impressive views to the ocean and the rocky Alden. We hiked around the island and had a relaxing time in the room enjoying the stormy weather. We also got very good breakfast and dinner. And Elin was incredibly friendly and helpful! It was really the perfect weekend getaway!
