The hotel is a hidden gem in busy Thamel, located in a quiet street it has a terrace where you can enjoy a cold beer. I accidently found the hotel when I was looking for a quiet terrace to have a cold beer after walking around Kathmandu the whole day. The staff welcomed me with open arms and were super friendly. I needed a room when I returned to Kathmandu after traveling Nepal for 3-4 weeks and I was so impressed by the staff that I booked a room while sitting on the terrace. When I entered the hotel after 3-4 weeks and a 10 hour bus ride from Chitwan they remembered me, and gave me the exact same chair on the terrace and the same beer I was drinking 3-4 weeks ago 😊 The room was absolutly Spotless and clean. Again I would like to thank the staff for making me feel at home during my stay 🙏

Set in Bhaktapur, within 200 metres of Bhaktapur Durbar Square and 12 km of Patan Durbar Square, Hotel Durbar Side features a terrace. Cleanliness, comfort, location, staff! I had an amazing stay at Hotel Durbar Side. The small hotel opened only 2-3 months ago. Everything is new and extremely clean. The beds were comfortable with spotless white sheets - a perfect place to rest after trekking. The hotel is perfectly located - All the main sights and lots of restaurants in walking distance. The atmosphere at the hotel is very relaxed, everyone’s smiling and it is quiet at night (no bells from the temple at 5am or noisy guests, just some dogs outside like everywhere). Breakfast is included (coffee/tea, pancake, toasted bread, boiled egg, jam & butter, some fruit) and a laundry service is available. The owner Sulav is very helpful and generous - he drove me to the hospital and we had a great time drinking tea and chatting about Nepalese history & politics. The rest of the staff is also very kind and positive. Thank you!
