Walk, eat, repeat
There is Cafe Coca-Cola in the Old Town on Calle 11. It is a spot with cheap food with decent size meals. Lot´s of locals seemed to visit there. We ate there in two occations, and no complaints. Total for to meals with mixed salad as starters tallied to 13 dollars for two with water. Altough Panama City traffic is heavy, we walked quite a lot: from old town to Cerro Ancon to Albrook. We used alot of metro as well in our walks. They are tidy and airconditioned and metro line is as clear as they come: only one line – just like in Helsinki.

Trumpin Ocean club tower ja siellä kattoterassi varsinkin illalla, upeat näkymät! Takseja helppo saada. Hinnat vaihtelevat kuskin mukaan paljonkin; sovi hinta etukäteen. Panaman kanavalla ja lentokentällä tapasimme ainoat englantia puhuvat henkilöt - käsittämätöntä! Kauppakeskukset isot ja modernit. Vanhasta kaupungista tulee varmaan viehättävä, kunhan ensin vähän korjailtaisi paikkoja. Presidentin palatsiin eikä edes sen lähelle päästetä ketään kulkijoita.

Itse pidin eniten Panama Cityssä vanhasta kaupungista.
Itse pidin eniten Panama Cityssä vanhasta kaupungista. Hintataso on hivenen hinnakas verrattuna mielikuvaan latinalaisen Amerikan hintatasosta. Ravintoloissa listahintoihin tulee monissa paikoissa päälle verot ja tipit. Katukeittiöissä ja kulmakuppiloissa on edullisempi hintataso ja hyvää ruokaa. Tosin tuntui, että paikallinen ruokatarjonta oli pizzaa ja purilaisia. Vanhan kaupungin vieressä on kaupunginosa, jossa poliisit pysähtyivät juttelemaan ja kyselemään aiotaanko oikeasti liikkua siellä ja kannattaisi ottaa taksi paikalta poistumiseen. Muuten paikka oli turvallinen ja jalkapartiossa olevia vahteja oli noin joka toisessa korttelissa, lisäksi poliisit partioivat autoilla ja moottoripyörillä ahkerasti turistialueilla. Takseista sellainen perusturvallinen turistihinta kaupungin sisällä oli viisi taalaa (uberilla sama matka 3,40) ja aina kannattaa neuvotella hinnasta etukäteen. Tinkimiseen toimii hyvin ns walk away temppu eli sanoo vaikka ottavansa bussin tai kysyvänsä toiselta kuskilta hintaa. Mikäli Albrookissa ostoskeskuksessa, Bussiterminaalissa, hotellin edessä, joku tarjoaa kyytiä niin yleensä nämä ovat ns. ukotuskyytejä eli ko kuski kalastelee turisteilta korkeampaa hintaa yleensä 10-15 dollaria 3-5dollarin kyydistä. Joissakin paikoissa ukottajat ovat harmonisoineet hinnat ja tinkiminen ei auta, silloin kannattaa kysyä taksista joka tuo jonkun paikalle. Mikäli on mahdollisuus valita minä päivinä on kaupungissa ja haluaa nähdä kanavan niin kannattaa varmistaa, että ko päivinä on kanavaristeily tarjolla. Päivän risteily katsomallani yhtiöllä maksoi $125/hlö. Itse koin Miraflores sulun katselun hivenen tylsänä, kun paikalla käynnin aikana ei mennyt edes laivaa sulusta läpi.

The hotel has a good location, the breakfast in the morning at restaurant Las Molas was amazing they have a variety of everything and the staff members always happy and ready to help. The rooms are big, beds super comfy plus my room had a balcony with pool view and also you could see the big buildings surrounding the hotel. Great hotel fully recommended.

Arrived at 9am, they did my checkin with no extra costs, staff are really friendly and nice, location is good and neighborhood is safe. Nice view in the pool. Definitely I will stay again.

The hotel has a good position, near the promenade, the view from 62th floor it's amazing, the view from the pool also the best in the town, the room was big and clean, soft bed, the staff friendly, a 10+++ breakfast (everything what you wish for starting from good quality drinks, pig or chicken roasted meat, tasty sweets, paincakes, and 7-8 different fruits)
