One of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept on while traveling. The place was clean and cozy with balcony views of the falls. Great value, good little breakfast and super friendly staff. They helped arrange a motorcycle taxi for us to get back down to the main road. The location is good with a good view. The town is small so walking to everything is easy.

There is free private parking and the property provides paid airport shuttle service. 5 star in everything we needed for a hiking vacation. Wonderful owners, who built the place themselves. The view of the waterfall, just a short walk away from the main part of town so quieter but can easily get to to restaurants, comfortable bed, hot water for showers, excellent breakfast. Vegetarian options too. The price is very reasonable.

The view from the balcony was amazing. The hotel is at beginning of the trail to the waterfall and near to the town as well. Very clean and spacious room. The host was friendly and gave us some useful tips for our hike.

A lovely homestay in the heart of Cuispes. We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner here as well. Hot shower, comfy bed and wifi. They helped us get to the waterfalls as well. It's more remote than most towns, so you need to try and plan ahead a bit, like what time you want to eat, what time you want to go somewhere etc. 10 soles per person in a mototaxi to get from Pedro Ruiz and 10 soles per person to get to the start of the waterfalls (don't walk, it's 5km, uphill on a dirt road).

They let us check in at 5 or 6 in the morning without any additional charge and when there was no internet in the town (therefore, all the atms were out of service and there was no possibility of paying by card anywhere) they gave us back some of the cash we paid for the accommodation so we could go to another town and withdraw money :D The location was also perfect - short walk to the long distance bus terminal, less than 10 min to the town square and less than 10 min to the local terminal for colectivos!

Chachapoyas has sooo much potential that is unrealized. Rough poor roads, poor tourist amenities, and many inaccessible places wo worth seeing. That being said, don't miss it. Kuelap, the sarcaphogi, revash, museo leymebamba. There's much more than the local guides know, and it inspires one to think of how it was before the Inca and Spanish Conquerers. If they would turn the plaza more into a tourist attraction, it would be great with some drinking establishmens and outdoor seating. Don't miss the great strip on Amazonas with restaurants and shops!
