Situated within 5.9 km of Estadio Enrique Torres Belon and 5.9 km of Puno Port, Luz del Titicaca Lodge features rooms in Puno. We stayed for 1 night at the king suite and we loved every moment of it. We only wished we had more time there. The owners, Joel and Luz, are amazing hosts! He took good care of us showing us around the Uros islands and explaining his culture. Don’t expect luxury when you are staying at a lodge, the luxury is the location itself. The absolute highlight of our stay is when Joel was returning us with his boat to Puno after the sunset and he literally made a bed with blankets and duvets for us to lie down and enjoy the ride while we were observing the Milky Way! Loved every moment of our stay!

The foremost thing we liked were the family (Juan, Elsa and their amazing children). They were super kind and what they have build on their island is amazing. The typical boat tour was super interesting and de textile workshop was interesting, but a little expensive for what it contains. The food Elsa cooked was amazing and delicious. The room was better than expected. The view is great and the beds are comfortable.

Boasting a garden, terrace and views of city, Casitas del Titicaca Peru is set in Puno, 5.9 km from Estadio Enrique Torres Belon. This was one of the best trips that we did while we were in Peru, the rooms are quite big, they're very nice and clean. When we were there, it wasn't extremely cold, so we were fine with all the blankets we had in the rooms. Eder is a very good host. He runs the hotel with his family. He took us to show how they lived and what they ate. He also took us to see the community of the Uros islands, told us about their history, what they have been through, and they're going through as Uros people. He was so nice and kind like the rest of his family. The food... we ate one of the best fish (trucha) that we have ever eaten in our lives. My sister doesn't like fish, and even she didn't even leave a single piece on her plate. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner and all of them were very, very good. We were very satisfied with our stay.

Small town with nothing to do other than seeing the Titicaca lake. We spent 2 nights because of the bus connections. If not for this, half a day suffice. It looks like a very poor city, but the people are ok and the food was good everywhere we went. To get around Puno you can easily got by foot out take the small tuck-tucks. The trip to the Titicaca floating islands is nice, but not worth the 2 days stay. Maybe if you plan for more days, try to get to Bolivia and visit the capital and the salt desert. Unfortunately we needed a visa for that and more than 2 days.
The only highlight for me in Puno was the lunch we had at the Mojsa restaurant at the Plaza De Armas which was one of the best we had in Peru. The tour to the floating islands is a pretty fake touristic experience and the city is not very nice, clearly has groen a lot recently. We went to the Bolivianen side of lake Titicaca afterwards which is double as nice, especially Isla Del Sol.
We did not know we needed a yellow fever certificate to go to Copacabana in Bolivia. You can get a shot at the local hospital but that sets us off another day. Puno has several tours and many sites to visit. It's high in altitude so good training for Cisco.
Good place to stay for visiting the lake and the islands. However, Puno itself is not particularly nice. Saying this, if you happen to stay for night we recommend the dinner and show at Balcones de Puno. Great food and entertainment.
Puno was a much better experience this time. In 2014 two men tried to pic pocket my camera. They did get my battery, but I got the camera back after chasing them down and demanding they return it in front of a crowd of people.
You should only stay here for 2 nights max. Arrive in the evening - do the overnight tour the next night and then catch an overnight bus when you return to Puno the following evening.
We only passed through Puno, spent the morning on the floating islands and as a result of some sltitude sickness spent the evening resting as we had a bus the next day
The city of puno itself was dirty, was a nice place to visit, loved the trip on the lake and meeting the locals on the floating reef island, also day trip the the islands in the middle of the lake was beautiful, much different to punch city itself, everything on the islands are well kept and the food which was cooked for us there was absolutely amazing. It’s a must to visit.
I really enjoyed Puno. Well worth spending a couple of days here. The Euros Islands are very touristy but worth a visit. The market near the wharf was excellent value and the sellers were good natured and not too pushy. Great mall and squares full of the usual shops and restaurants.
Puno has about two attractions worthy of maybe two day's visit... the Uros islands (half day trip is sufficient) and maybe the Sillustani tombs, unless you plan to visit Taquile & Amantani as well. Anything more (Mirador Kuntur Wasi) is just a time filler until it's time to board your bus. The rest of the city is not touristic or particularly pleasant and has not made the most of the neighbouring lake as much as nearby Bolivian towns (Copacabana) have. Like the rest of Peru, Puno has plenty of cheap street food, 5s/ set lunches, Chifa, Pollerias as well as more upmarket, tourist-focused Andean "fusion" restaurants.
Issac had great communication from the start and provided very easy instructions to and from Puno. We took a local taxi to the port as there was no Uber and the boat ride which is amazing was about 20 min. For an additional cost we opted for an amazing dinner brought to our room. Our fav was the bed which was the comfiest in all of Peru with a king size mattress. Sunset views are spectacular and the serene calm of the lake was an experience. Thank you to Issac and his family for all their hospitality and very warm welcome and goodbye.
Clean, spacious, well maintained room. Super friendly and hospitable staff at reception, especially Lupe who checked us in! Hotel is very close to main square and shops, so great location too. Good breakfast served on the top floor! Upon request, the hotel arranged to pick us up from Puno bus station too and the driver was extremely kind, friendly and patient with our bus delay and even helped us with bags. Arranged for same driver to also drop us off at Juliaca airport too, seamless and stress-free experience! Highly recommend.
Beautiful lodge in the Uros areas. Carlos did a lot of work to improve the living conditions for guests and the result is just amazing! Comfy bed, room with sunset and sunrise view, calm and relaxing! Carlos and family are lovely people! Well located, only 15 minutes boat ride from Puno port. Staying overnight in Uros, talking to the community here is an unique experience! We highly recommend anyone interested in the culture and history of Peru to stay in Uros!
The room was exactly like in the pictures. The owner shared with us many useful information (how to get around the city, how to reach the airport), he booked for us a good, well priced tour to Uros island. The accomodation was worth every cent. It offers great value for money. The breakfast was above expectations for Peruvian standards. We felt welcome and we wouldn't hesitate to book again if coming back to Puno. This place truly deserves it's rating.
Lovely hotel with outstanding views. The location just outside Puno was great, only a short inexpensive taxi ride into town. We spent a night on the uros islands in a homestay prior to our stay here and the hotel is right next to the port used for the pick up and drop off. Breakfast at this hotel is outstanding, best in our month in Peru. Loved the jacuzzi in the spa area. Staff were very helpful and service was excellent. Overall a great 5 star stay.
Félix was such an amazing host, who took care of us from the moment of coming to Puno to the moment of our departure. The way we were welcomed, we felt more like guests than clients. Félix showed us around the community, spent a lot of time explaining the history and traditions, and also booked additional trips for us. It was certainly a special moment during our trip in Peru, so would definitely recommend anyone staying at Uros Amaru Marka Lodge.
Best night we had during our time in Peru. The view on the Titicaca at night and in the morning is unparalleled. Wilson and Lisbeth are a lovely couple who treated us like we were part of the family. Rich dinner and breakfast. The morning after we had to be at the port of Puno at 6:30. W&L took us to shore and arranged our ground transportation to the port. 10/10 would definitely recommend
Room service was great and staff were more than helpful, especially since we speak very little Spanish. I was impressed as we arrived for our stay, a staff member rushed out to help with our bags, I have never had that happen in any of my travels, even with far more expensive hotels. Overall, it was a great choice for accommodations and I highly recommend Casona Plaza Hotel Puno.
We were only staying in Puno for one night before we transferred to Copacabana and this was the perfect place to stay. It’s a bit dated, but probably the nicest hotel in the city center. Staff were very helpful, room was clean and comfortable with a great view overlooking the square, and the breakfast buffet was one of the best we’ve seen in South America!
I got a twin room with a private bathroom with breakfast included (a simple ham or cheese sandwich with tea) for the price of a dormitory bed at most places in Peru. The owners are also very friendly and helpful, they have a tour agency with the hostel that offers the lowest price I could find for tours in Puno. Would recommend!
A hotel that harks back to yesteryear. Was probably thriving in its day.The hotel was a long way from Puno centre but in a location magically overlooking Lake Titicaca. The staff were very pleasant. The room was clean, very comfortable bed, great views of the lake over rooftop gardens.
Puno
Great value for money in Puno. After 2 days on the floating islands this was exactly what we needed. Hotel looks new and clean, clean room, hot shower, heater in the room, thick windows to block street noise, close to the center and normal breakfast with the lake and city view. Thanks!
The location of Tierra Viva Puno Plaza is great - It is between two beautiful squares, in the centre of Pune, yet it is off the main road such that is it quite. The hotel staff is very friendly and our room very clean. We will happy return to Tierra Viva Puno Plaza.
Beautiful view of Puno Bay. restaurant was good; breakfast was varied; beds comfortable and room and bath very spacious. Although hotel is away from downtown, like a 10 min. ride, taxis are available or can be arranged at at low cost. reception desk is very efficient.
1. Location is the center of Puno. 8 sol for taxi if you take taxi from turismo mer bus terminal. 2. Hotel seems to be a little bit old, but the furniture and decor are stylish 3. Heater in the room. 4. Spacious and clean
THE VERY BEAUTIFUL HOTEL, A WARM ROOM, VERY RESPECTFUL ATTENTION, HELPED ME A LOT IN MY STAY, I RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE WHO WANTS TO STAY IN PUNO PERU. WONDERFUL AND THANK YOU HOTEL CESAR FOR THE GOOD STAY
- Very friendly and attentive staff. They helped me with tour & bus ticket arrangement. The hotel is centrally located in Puno, spacious room, and good price for value. - steady hot water.
Nice hotel in the heart of Puno. Big room with a nice large and comfy bed. Breakfast was served in the room which was a bit uncomfortable but breakfast itself was good.
Amazing hotel in Puno, room was very nice with the view, very nice breakfast and great staff that help us with every problem. Hotel provide also trips for near titicaca
Good location of the hotel, just one block away from the main square in Puno and few good restaurants (Mojsa is 2 minutes from the hotel). Friendly staff.
