Good equipped supermarket "Cazou" near by in Santa Maria by taxi for 4€. Beautiful Melia resort / pools with nice staff and reasonable prices for drinks / eat a la carte is good if wished from time to time. Nearby tropical garden Vivero is extremely beautiful to visit. Also beaches nearby. Golf course nearby. Green Fee around 100 € + Equipment to rent. I relaxed alot there. Santa Maria town is beautiful with dream beaches and locations for eat and drink for 4€ by taxi / 5€ later at night. Fresh meat is exceptional tasty good by CV animals at Cazou supermarket. No factory farming at Cabo Verde.

High standard luxury equipped. I lived in many hotels my last 4 years here but this is TOP NOTCH! You’ll have everything you need, amazing bed and clean bath and kitchen. Pool right outside the door (many of them). Was easy to get to Santa Maria since taxis are right outside the door.

Hilton Cabo Verde Sal Resort features 4 restaurants and bars, and a spa. Guests can enjoy an onsite casino, fitness centre and a kid's club. Staff was absolutely AMAZING!! Everyone was always super nice and very helpful from reception, to breakfast, to pool bar and beach restaurant! Thank you so much!! The hotel is beautiful, full of green areas, huge pool, comfy sun beds. Food was alright, everything very overpriced but it’s Hilton and more than expected to be this way. The beach is just in front of the hotel, with white sand and water is warm. There is the water activities center on the beach where you can book diving, snorkeling, kitesurfing, water bikes, kayaking, SUP, etc. Staff was very nice there and can speak Portuguese, English, Spanish, French and Criolo. My friend is celiac and needed gluten free food, the hotel was great accommodating this, for breakfast she always had gluten free bread, croissants, cakes, etc; they French fries are done separately and they also had gluten free bread for burgers. You can easily walk to Santa Maria city through the walking area behind the beach, it’s about 10minutes, you will find a supermarket on the way too. You can also book the day trip to the island and the turtle night trip at the hotel reception (35€), if you book with people you find in the street it will cost 25€. We absolutely loved the week we spend at Hilton!

A lovely place to stay, and was perfect for a single traveler. A good room overlooking the pool but always quiet. Restaurants were excellent and the food impressive. Very helpful staff and cheerful service. Lots of different places to go whether you like relaxing, being on a beach drinking in the shade, swimming, gym - it was all there. Very generous cocktails!
