The place is truly authentic, ppl may describe it as old but it's can't be more wrong. I would describe it as rustic and serene, especially with the river beside it. Yes!! A running river, not much of a great sight but the sound of flowing water bring peace to your soul. Also, there's a private and excusive onsen beside the river, you just have to reserve it. Now to the most important aspect, the staff of Seiryuso.The hotel manager, Kajiki san set the benchmark for top notch hospitality. He has a bubbling personality, always giving out good vibes and positive energy. Always ready to serve and provide service. Always service with a smile.😊😊😊. Well, Japanese are known to provide great service but this is a whole other level. A special shout-out to the restaurant crew, specifically the service staff, didn't manage to get all their names other than matsuyi san. Kudos to the other gentlemen that provided the service.

Yurian ligt in Ibusuki, op 10 km van Ibusuki Onsen. Er is een zwembad en een warmwaterbronbad op het terrein. Het zwembad en de warmwaterbronnen worden 2 keer per dag vervangen. All their staff were very warm, friendly and super helpful. Love the Spring onsen plus a separate spring swimming pool in the villa. Amazing views!!

It’s a family owned guest house with mother, father and two kids born 2020 and 2023. The father speaks English and that is friendly and eager to help. The common area is the same as the family’s private space. As a family you have access to a big bath tub big enough for four people. The house is made out of mainly wood, which is spacious and cozy. They created small areas for kids to play. Example a small ropeway. The father likes spear fishing. Relaxed atmosphere and helpful family made the trip to Amami really pleasant. Recommended.

The room is a basic tatami room with futon. What makes this place stand out to me are the numerous bath houses…there are 3 outdoor baths as well as an indoor bath. All can be accessed privately with a key system which makes it very relaxing. Breakfast was excellent. Staff was very kind and polite.

Nakahara Bessou ligt op 5 minuten lopen van het tramstation Tenmonkandori en biedt Japanse en westerse accommodatie met een flatscreen-tv en verfrissende openbare warmwaterbronnen. Everything was just perfect. Fabulous location, staff and facilities. Loved the gentle renovation, it has kept its ryokan style. Loved the decor of our room, it gave it a really nice atmosphere.

Overlooking Kagoshima Bay, Hakusuikan boasts an outdoor pool and a variety of spacious indoor/outdoor hot-spring baths, including a Sunamushi sand hot-spring. This hotel was a very nice surprise. Our room was exceptional - a very spacious, luxurious room with four different areas. The entry way to our room as well as the furnishings in the room were beautiful. It was a great place to relax. The view from our windows was magnificent! Our dinner was very delicious and filling. The breakfast was also very good. The hot sand bath - sunamushi sakaba - was a new, great experience for us. The onsen area is very large and clean, a nice place to soak after a long day. If you go, enjoy the bar located by the onsen - it's free to hotel guests and the bartender was very kind.

Ryokan Kawakyu ligt op 8 minuten rijden van het JR-treinstation van Ibusuki en biedt kamers in Japanse stijl met uitzicht op de rivier de Nitanda, groene thee en traditionele futonbedden. I had a great time staying at Family Ryokan Kawakyu. Oyama-san and his staff were very kind and accommodating. The rooms were clean and well-appointed. The hot bath was amazing after a long flight, and the breakfast in the morning was authentic and delicious. Oyama-san also helped me organise an electric bicycle for cycling around the Ibusuki area, and he pointed out some great local sights for me to see. This kind of generous, local hospitality is what makes staying at a Ryokan the best experience - you don’t get this in traditional hotels! Highly recommended!
