VS-Villingen is a Medieval walled city within easy driving (...
VS-Villingen is a Medieval walled city within easy driving (or train) distance of many of the attractions in the Black Forest area of Germany. It is one hour and 15 minutes from either Zurich or Stuttgart International airports. It has an incredible Fastnacht celebration in February. Like Mardi Gras in the USA, it is celebrated during the last days before the start of Lent (Ash Wednesday). The parades are amazing with ancient wooden face masks and elaborate costumes representing the various regions.

The apartment was pleasantly pre-warmed, which was most welcome in December in Germany. The queen bed was very comfortable and the bedding provided perfect warmth. It is conveniently located near a grocery store and a bank with an international ATM, and is within easy walking distance to the City Center.
