Extremely warm and comfortable room (the bed especially!). It was so peaceful and relaxing, ideally located for the restaurants of Papingo and the hiking trails.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating, especially happy to drive up and down from the main car park (where you park your car).
Dog friendly :)

The location is really good! Breakfast very small but yummy!
Really close to the village too!
Also you have to visit the farm with the horses near the hotel…and the hotels restaurant is totally recommended!!!

We loved Karaouli—it's tucked away at the top of Mikro Papingo, beneath the looming cliffs and overlooking the valley towns and mountains beyond. Our room was warm and comfortable, the owners were friendly and attentive, and the outdoor cats were playful and cuddly (and abundant!). When we visited in early April, there were no other tourists in the town as far as we could see, which was perfect for us. Can't recommend a visit to this area enough.

Papigko is a beautiful village, cobbled streets with quaint shops, bars and restaurants and stunning views of surrounding mountains. The only disappointment was that it seems in mid-September many bars and restaurants seem to close for at least a week break (some maybe a little longer). We were informed it was a break before the autumn/winter season starts. However there was still some places to eat and drink so all was ok. Lots a walking trails around for keen hikers. Well worth a visit to this Village, you would not be disappointed.

we visited during summer and it was the busiest village of Zagoria which made it more socializing than others. Also it has cute coffee shops and
tavernas almost every corner. It also has access to multiple good hiking routes as well as springs and lake so you dont have to travel far to access hiking paths if you are short in time or dont want to do another adventurous car ride up in the mountain.

There are tons of things to do in and around Papigko. From the walks around the picturesque village, to exploring the culinary experiences on offer, to the serene hikes and the Papigko rock pools. Before reaching Papigko, be sure to stop on the banks of the Boithomatis river and have a dip in the cold waters on a hot summer's day. The place is equally as breathtaking in the winter as it is in the summer. The air is clean it almost has a taste to it from all the lovely flora and fauna. Don't miss out, go there and you will find welcoming locals and memories to last you a lifetime.

Papigko is situated in the Zagoria mountains with interesting history and spectacular scenery. We thoroughly enjoyed our walks in the mountains and in the Vikos Gorge. The surrounding villages have lots to see with interesting architecture and history. Our 5-night visit was just right. Greece has so much more to offer than just lovely beaches!

When you are at Papigko, you should visit Ovries, the local summer natural complex of small pools between Mikro and Megalo Papigko. Mikro Papigko for its nice view from to of the mountain and for hiking to Drakolimni. River Voidomatis for rafting is another location to visit.
Really good location and the staff were super friendly and helpful. Great breakfast freshly cooked perfect after a days hiking. The view from the hotel was amazing at sunset. Local restaurants are really close and reasonably priced. Staying here rather than papingo cuts a bit of walking out of your day if you are planning onward to astraka refuge/dragon lake.
Oh my god! Food was amazing, breakfast was even more amazing!!! Best food I've ever had to be honest and I've travelled a LOT. Room was beautiful and warm, shower was hot and it's located at the trailhead of Dragons lake. The views around the hotel are insane. They also have the cutest dog wandering around. I'd love to live here, 10/10 recommend booking!
Perfect location in the top of the village with amazing mountains view in nice shared balcony, private parking area, well equipped and clean rooms, authentic and beautiful style. Breakfast was beyond expectations. We even bought a jar of their perfect homemade orange jam for few Euros. Staff was helpful and welcoming. Highly recommended!
The breakfast is good, but not outstanding
A must stay to experience, even only slightly, living in a farm house, rather than a hotel. If you are interested, the owner will be happy to talk about the place, and life in such a remote village, which is very interesting, in particular for people like us from a very different background
The little house was delightful and very comfortable with beautiful views of the mountains. The food at breakfast and dinner was delicious and the provenance amazing - all home grown and sourced from the family’s animals. This family run hotel and restaurant is an absolute delight and excellent value for money.
The hotel is majestic with a local traditional architecture whereas the rooms have a beautiful minimal/rustic architecture. The host Mr Giorgos is the most welcome host we've seen yet, always helpful and with a smile. The view from the room was breathtaking. Totally our stay was exquisite.
Located in a spectacular Papingo village in a heart of Zagori region. Welcoming hotel with a great staff and friendly family atmosphere. The restaurant is one of the best places to eat in the village, the breakfast was amazing. The rooms are clean and comfortable.
The staff , the food, the views, the hotel , the room.
Everything was like a dream. Epic views.
The staff was so friendly, Christo, Panagioti and the girls were so friendly and helpfull. Thanks for everything , we will be back for sure
Amazing location, beautiful place. The room was very big and comfortable (family with two kids). The owners of the hotel are very friendly and helpful, you can ask for trips advises or anything else. The breakfast was great as well.
A charming boutique hotel in the mountains. The room is large and comfortable. The host is very welcoming and nice. Great breakfast. The location is very convenient for hiking in the mountains and eating in restaurants and bars.
An unforgettable experience! The hotel has the best location in Papigo and definitely the best view! Our room was spacious and clean! The incredible Breakfast added to our experience ! We want to repeat our visit soon!
The perfect hospitality, the great breakfast, the perfect location at the entrance to the village, the views, the weather and more and more. Absolutely perfect place to stay in papigo. Highly recommended!
Fantastic village. Views all around with easily walkable shops and eateries. Staff was welcoming and even made our breakfast the night before we left because we were leaving early to hike. Loved it.
The hotel is in one of the best locations and yet very quiet. The staff was friendly and accommodating to our needs, and the room was super clean and always very warm (visited during winter).
An incredibly accommodating host running a beautiful hotel in the heart of Papingo. Our room was fantastic, breakfast was delicious, and the host assisted in booking activities in the area.
Wonderful place at a lovely village. Great location at the entrance of the village, right where some tours of the region start. All restaurants in the village are in few minutes walk.
Nice studio way on top of a mountain, incredible views in a great village setting. Great free breakfast, good wifi, great hosts, fast communication. Would definitely stay again.
