We've been there several times, but the last time was 10 years ago and it has really grown. There are restaurants and shops everywhere now, so it's a bit more crowded. We always felt safe and there are many choices for places to eat and stay.Pat - 10Scored 10

It was an amazing experience.. would definitely recommend.. large selection of activities to do as well as many hotels and restaurants.. beach is very nice, a lot more people than I had imagined. Everyone is very friendly which makes it nice when walking around or buying anything.. the "Isla Del Coral" was definitely a big plus on our trip. Beautiful 2Km beach with gentle waves and warm water. This is the favourite spot for people from Gudalajara so the beach is packed with Mexicans - families, mariachi bands, tuba bands, pushcarts selling everything from sombreros to cocoanut water fresh out of the cocoanut. If you are not up for a fiesta 1.5 Km long, the southern end of the beach past the Decameron resort is where the Canadians and French-Canadians hang out. If you like Mahi-mahi filet grilled in butter and garlic, Tonino's lll near the Decameron is your place for Pescado con Ajo

The town has a huge beach area, and lots of facilities for tourists. It seems to be a typical Mexican village, and nearby La Penita has an extensive market on Thursdays, which has wonderful produce, and some different souvenir stands with high quality goods.

If you need something, they bring it right up. (Ie. I needed some pots for cooking.). They also lent me an industrial fan for white noise. They forewarned me about the bar a block away but the fan was sufficient and I loved the location. Just a few blocks from beach and my collectivo dropped me off on highway just a two blocks away! Any questions I had were answered almost immediately via WhatsApp.KarenCanada

We enjoyed watching the many families taking part in the organized activities by the very exuberant recreation director this resort is supported by many Mexican families on vacation and a few "gringos" who come yearly. there is entertainment offered most evenings.

If you like character of older hotels, it has its own eclectic charm that isn't found at the newer Decameron hotels in the area. It was kept very clean and tidy by staff, who were very accomodating and friendly. The rooms up at the 'adult' section were very spacious and had a lovely view. The pool area in the adult section had lots of available chairs daily, so there was no stress to claim enough chairs for 6 adults.PennyCanada
