A dreamy hotel in a charming little beach town. Just far enough away from the main drag for a tranquil vibe but still close enough for easy access to beach, restaurants and shops. Hotel in Sayulita
Located in Sayulita, a 4-minute walk from Sayulita Beach, Ximena Hotel Boutique has accommodations with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking and a bar. Located just across the road from the main bus stop, and just a short 10 minute walk to the main, buzzy square, and also a short walk to the beach, Ximena hotel is like a calm oasis, away from the hustle and bustle of Sayulita. The building is spotlessly clean, and rooms are very spacious. We had an issue in our room when we first arrived where one of the sinks was leaking. But we reported it and were immediately given another room instead, without any trouble. The shower is huge and very good, lovely toiletries provided too, which smelled gorgeous. There is lots of space for luggage in the room, and a nice fan plus AC to keep cool. We had a small balcony with a table and chairs, perfect for enjoying a morning coffee. A bottle of purified water is provided in the room, and there is a cold water dispenser in the main corridor which can be used to refill bottles, which was so handy. The rooftop pool was the highlight for us. So peaceful and relaxing to lounge up there away from the crowds, and enjoy the heated pool.

San Blas is a taste of the Nayarit Riviera without going to Puerto Vallarta and dealing with all the yuppie tourist traffic. San Blas itself is small but vibrant with a great downtown area sporting really nice bars, restaurants and a really nice town square. If you're visiting from an English speaking country, the San Blas Supper Club is run by a guy from Brooklyn and is full of really good food, drinks, and English is the spoken language. It's full of ex-pats. Otherwise, hit the streets and enjoy the Mexican restaurants, bars, and culture. After all, that's what it's all about; rigfht? The birds are incredible and the crocodiles are a thing to see as then sun themselves in an area that's been set aside for them for viewing. Make no mistake, these are wild crocodiles, they just chose this refuge on the side of the road to hang. Puerto Vallarta is just a couple hours drive away and it's possible to see it as a day trip. To me, San Blas is the most laid back place I've been in Mexico, and I've been around. Don't be afraid of the smoked fish open air restaurants as you drive into town. We ate at them every day and I've seriously missed them since I moved on. A hunk of beautifully smoked Marlin with rice and veggies will set you back about 120 pesos plus tip. Go and enjoy!
This friendly town of 9,000 was once bustling with important commercial and military business, three times its present size. Today it is quieter, a perfect glimpse of everyday Mexican life in contrast to the slicker tourist centers farther south in Nayarit and Jalisco. Though not as charmingly tidy as other important colonial cities like San Miguel de Allende, its historic buildings (some ruinous) are picturesque and there is a definite sense of civic pride. Community life on the plaza is vibrant at all hours. We were there during January's annual International Festival of Migratory Birds and greatly enjoyed the free dance, music and kids' storytelling performances on the plaza's stage and in the small park next to the historic customs house. Our main focus was enjoying the rich natural world around San Blas, including the La Tovara river trip. Our three days were not long enough, so we hope to return next January for a longer stay.
Much more relaxing than PV. I highly recommend staying in Nayarit with less crowds and prettier beaches. Access to the airport and town is easy as well as to the great beaches to the North.
Although turistic, the city is kinda peacefull and tranquil. The by sea Malecon is excellent, and theres always something going on. The people of Jalisco and Nayarit are friendly.
The marina was our draw with friends on a sailboat. The town itself, because of the sailboat community, has a blend of California meets Nayarit. The bars hop, food is great and some of the best "roadside Pollo" can be had.
I like most everything About Tepic Nayarit it's a really nice place to visit
We have friends near there and we also wanted to learn more about the history of Nayarit.
Rincon de Guayabitos
I have been travelling around Nayarit, Mexico for two months with some friends. This was by far the worst accommodation that we have stayed in. We all agreed on that once we left. I cannot think of a single nice thing about our two night stay at Posada El Balcon. The only reason we didn't leave or switch hotels after the first night was because one of my friend was not feeling well on our second day, and didn't have the energy to move hotels. Do not stay at this hotel!
The central location across from the the Nayarit State Capitol was fantastic to view at night, as well as the City Park.
All the staff is excellent. Everybody's attitud is perfect. Service is great. Nigh Activities are amazing. The food is variated, the reserverd dinners ares extraordinary. Swimming pools very clean. The room absolutely clean and complete : coffemaker, snacks, servivbar with beverages and water. Ice machines in very good conditions . The whole hotel so pretty.

Breakfast buffet and variety of daily menus.
everything was exceptional from the staff to the cleanliness of the hotel
Super friendly. Wonderful location. Great access to store and activities.
Great location. very clean. a lot of activity. staff very nice friendly for everyone.
Staff was exceptional. Location beautiful, food delicious.
Friendly staff, delicious food, lots of fun activities. We had a wonderful time. Sun, beach, concerts, it was a week of paradise.
The beach area was great, the staff were great, we had a great view of the ocean from our room on third floor. Best of all was that you were a quick walk into the town of Buceries which had a lot of food restaurants and entertainment, art walks etc..
We loved the buffet. Fruit was excellent. Never disappointed with anything.
The hotel location, the room was spacious with the best ocean views, the amenities, the pool was big!
we liked the location of the hotel - had a room on the 4th floor overlooking the beach/ocean The grounds are kept extremely clean as well as the rooms. the staff were very friendly and extremely supportive when we were needing some help due to illness. We enjoyed watching the many families taking part in the organized activities by the very exuberant recreation director this resort is supported by many Mexican families on vacation and a few "gringos" who come yearly. there is entertainment offered most evenings.
Great little restaurant in the hotel.
Upon my arrival at the hotel, I had no clue where things were. I had to ask for directions, and eventually, everything was explained to me. There was a miscommunication in booking; the room I was assigned was not the one I had reserved. After discussing with the manager, I was transferred to a suite. Despite being advertised as all-inclusive, there was only one restaurant open at a time. Although I was informed there were four, only one was operational. Consequently, we were stuck with buffet meals for three days, with one day offering a different experience where someone took our orders. Nevertheless, all the staff were extremely kind and helpful, and the drinks were excellent. The property was very clean. The food and drinks at the beach bar were also great, with another set of excellent staff. Overall, I had a pleasant experience. However, I wished there were multiple restaurant options, especially since I booked the all-inclusive package with that expectation.
Beautiful, quiet little piece of paradise.
