There are lots of good walking/cycle paths in the area and easy access to Borders towns such as Peebles, Innerleithen, Selkirk, Melrose and Kelso. The nearest village, Walkerburn (2.5 miles) has a great cafe (Caberston Farm), a local grocery, a play-park and some nice riverside walking. Our hosts - Eleanor, Adam and Rosemary - were helpful and always ready to chat, whilst giving us plenty of space.

Really happy with the hotel. Once I worked out the buses, it was a perfect place to stay. Really couldn't have asked for more for the price. The only problem - and this is on booking.com not the hotel - it's NOT IN JEDBURGH. It's in Denholm, which is more Hawick way. That really messed up my plans in terms of getting around the borders. Could have cost me a taxi fare or too. As it was it just cost me a few hours of my time in buses.

There is so much venturing to be done around the borders, it's lovely to know that you can you come back to some delicious food and relax in one of the bars. The apartment is located 30 seconds away from the town centre and parking is available. The Gordon Arms Hotel is very Covid aware. The room we were allocated was Number 1 and greatly exceeded our expectations. The breakfast was as substantial as you wanted it to be, the evening meal menu was excellent, the staff were very attentive and kind.
